HAHAHAH french people suck

Actually the only thing that changed from British english to CANADIAN English was slang. We still spell it Colour, not color. We still spell it neighbour, not neighbor. We still spell it organisation, not organization. So actually, we do speak "real" English, but slang has definitely changed. I don't say "summit", I say "something". However, ACTUAL words in French have changed, not just slang. And British Grammar is still the grammar we use in Canada. We don't speak AMERICAN English in CANADA. So actually, it wasn't very ignorant, but your comment was both ignorant and fueled by an uncontrolable sense of anger and vulnerability.

This is why I don't like the French. You can't even make a joke like "REAL French" and emphasize the "real" without some frenchie getting his knickers in a twist! :lol:

Yes they are different dialects, but Canadian english has retained its English rules, whereas American English has not. I never choose "American English" when I download a program. I always click on "UK English" because UK English is the same as Canadian apart from slang.

 

I went to french school my entire life and there's no such thing as 'quebec grammar', we spell and have all the same grammar rules as the french, only our accent and expressions are different, so i don't really see where you were going with that. Personally i think you should have a little more respect for the french language as it's a hard language to learn and quite honestly a beautiful one. And this fueled by anger and vulnerability thing? What kind of bullshit is that ahahaha.....Since when is being offended by someones ignorant comment automatically mean one is angry and vulnerable? Or was that just to sound supperior?

And perhaps i wouldn't have gotten my 'knickers in a twist' if you were actually correct and making sense. I really have no problem admiting that us Quebeckers are somewhat barbarian and yes, assholes at times. It's one thing to insult or make a joke about the french when you know what you're talking about, but you my dear, have your head so far up your ass you would need it surgically removed.

Actually to be quite honest i could care less about your insults towards the french because a)you obviously don't know what you're talking about, b)your intended derogatory comments/jokes are plain ignorant and c)you probably have absolutely no valuable experience with the french to personally 'hate' them, therefor making your comments and opinions hypocritical and ultimately pointless.

 

i for one never gets into a snit over a language issue .........been called every name under the sun in some of the places i've worked because i was french ...now i just tell them ."well ,i bet you my english is better than your french "..end of arguement....the way i look at it now...an asshole is an asshole ..no matter what race, ,religion,nationality,color,sex age or sexual preference...been a long time since i been bothered by being called a frog or being told to go back to the lily pond......i've heard them all

First: Yes, the grammar is different. Have you ever lived in France? I thought not.

Second, it's not a hard language to learn, and it's ugly.

Third, "but you my dear," was a less than subtle attempt at being condescending (and.. oh.. wait for it --- superior).

Fourth, if you could care less, you care too much. It's supposed to be "I couldn't care any less".


Now stop insulting your intelligence and go play.

I think i would know if the goddamn grammar is different or not, sweetheart. You don't need to live in France to be aware of that. There's no such thing as a 'Quebecois' class. I've spent 17 years learning french and no matter how long i or anyone else spends studying/learning it, there's no way in hell anyone could manage to perfect it, nor could any teacher for that matter, therefor making it infact a hard language to learn. Learning a language doesn't only involve speaking it by the way. You don't walk into french class saying, "ahh, fuck these written grammar rules and elaborate writting methods, i just want to speak it!", now do you? And ugly? Now i don't really think you meant that, because a smart, educated girl like yourself surely knows that french is known to be one of the most beautiful and romantic languages in the world.

"Could care less" is not an idiom, it's just poor syntax. "Couldn't care any less" is the correct phrase.

It's not a hard language to learn (not when comparing to any other language) Now the Khoisan languages - those are hard to learn. You may think it is romantic and I strongly believe that is because that is what you've been told it is. I mean how many times can one come up with the word "Romantic" for sounds produced by vocal chords, lungs, lips, etc.? I don't think it's romantic at all. To me, it sounds rough and blurred. That's my opinion, and my education or personal knowledge has nothing to do with the way I think a language sounds. French is ugly. So yes, I do mean it.
