Hi i am a 17 year old boy from england and ive had this weid dream about 3 times over a year or so. now its very hard to explain so please bear with me right, first of all, this dream is not very visual ( or perhaps the visual aspect is not important and so i dont remember it ). this dream is all about texture. for some reason im like, god or somthing like that and im looking at the universe and its all these conecting "strings". and for some reson its realy important that i cut the corect strings because if i dont then the universe will fall apart. so ive got a knife ( or somthing ) and i proceed to cut these "strings". and some of them feel realy nice to cut. the knife just glides through them and it feels realy satisfying. but others, when i cut them its kind of like cuting throgh polystyrene or somthing because it makes this horible squeking noise and when i cut these it felt like i had done somthing realy bad. now, i felt like i could only get 3 or so of these "bad strings" before the universe couldnt take it any more and it could end. there are many other strange aspects to this dream that i cannot find the words for, and i had to change things i the obove discription to make it understandable to some one who was not there. for example i wouldnt say these things were strings but thats the closests thing there is in this world to it. and i also didnt feel like i was god. belive it or not this dream is unbeliveably scary, mainly due to the presure of having to run the whole universe at the age of 17. if some one can help shed some light on what this very abstract dream, or a way to not have it again it would be much appreciated thanks
The think the word you are looking for is "sinew," as in muscle sinew. Your cutting them could mean that you are cutting your own beliefs, bad habits, tendencies, bad thoughts, relationships, choices, etc. You are thus trying to put your mind in order. Each string in the universe may represent your choices in life. Some choices you make will not cause any harm. Some choices you make will cause you pain. So it can be as simple as the strings representing friends, your choice of friends. You could select to be friends with someone who turns out to be a good guy or you could choose unwisely, in which case this friend will bring you bad luck, drag you down with him, "make you" do drugs, rob, etc. The strings could therefore mean temptation. The strings may represent relationships, how you relate to other people, good & bad. Your cutting of the bad strings may denote your desire to make peace in the world, to set things right. It cannot be done, the world is as it is and no one can really change it; you cannot force other people to act how you want them to. I hope this helps. Am I right? Probably not.
i think you could be on the right lines. i just hope i dnt have it again cos i cnt sleep for hours after beacuse im just laying there trying to make sence of it all
one thing to try with recurring dreams is to wright down your life circumstances the morning after each repetition- the things that you are dealing with & thinking about, big and small. Then you can look back in your journal and see if there are patterns.
