Helpful advice...Ladies please...

Okay heres the sitch. I've had a crush on this gal for prob about a year now. Im kinda embarrased to be asking for help of this nature at age 40, but here goes. She works in the local wal mart, she's like a manager, she's always at the rgister monitoring station dealing with cashiers etc. Its not like she's at the customer svc. counter or anything, so i cant really have a pretense to interact with her. Its going to have to be a straight up approach. The problem is...What the hell do i say ? The only thing i can think of is something like "Excuse me... ive had a crush on you for the past year, and was wondering if you'd like to have a drink and chat sometime?" This just smacks of lameness to me. Ladies....Please help me with this, i would like to say something clever, but im at a loss.

Also....she MAY be 10 or 12 yrs younger than me, not a big deal to me, but what'd you think.?

I would trulyy appreciate your advice.

Hell man, life is too short to sit around and wonder...you'll never know unless you try. The trick is, don't come on too strong. Just ask her out for a drink or something. The worst that can happen is rejection. And if she's mature, it won't go beyond that point. But you're doing nothing but torturing yourself by wondering. Go for it.

 

The approach here will depend entirely on the girl.

If she is classicly beautiful, hitting on her won't work. You'll have to build some sort of rapport and based on these conversations see if she likes you. Try seeing if you can get a favour out of her (returning something late or getting a discount. Whatever).

If she isn't (especially if she has a few extra pounds on her) just move in for the kill and ask her out.

But whatever you do, don't tell her you've been stalking her for a year (and yes, that was facetious).

 

whatever you do, don't wait around, she could be gone tomorrow. the best...best way to go about it is with a sense of humor. if you make her giggle a little, she wont say no.

 

yeah, humor is key; and be sure not to seem to meek, or too over-bearing. that's alot of help, huh? lol.
