i have recently heard that cannabis sales are to be resttricted to citizens only in holland!!!! appart from that sucking ass, i was wondering if its true, and when it will be happening? if its before november i might have to kill myself because i was planning a trippy trip to the 'dam. cheers, from ali peace out.
it isnt true. tourism is too big a part of things in most places, so to restrict that doesnt make sense. just go to the netherlands and be happy
if you smoke in amsredam and then you go back to the US and get drug tested, can/will you get in trouble? Cuz technically you were smoking legally and not in the US at all...
In trouble with the law? Definitely not. They should have bigger things to worry about than some kid coming home with some THC in his fat cells. Could you get fired from your job if you fail a drug test right after you come back? Most likely no. You were doing it legally so I'm sure it would make a good Supreme Court case if you pursued it.
Legally, if it is in your system than you are in possession and subject to the law of the land where you are standing - that is how it is.
We wish. I know of quite a few people fired for failing drug tests - when where and how is not considered only what is in your piss at the time of the test.
when you´re in amsterdam (and the rest of the Netherlands), you are NOT smoking "legally." it is just tolerated. a lot. so much that it seems legal. it´s legality is kinda hazy, so i doubt you could make a case for it being "legal" there. and yeah, it´s "tolerated" to have shit in your system in the netherlands (i would imagine there´s NO concern or feeling over this issue in Holland. that´d be ridiculous.) but as soon as you´re back in the US, it just might be illegal to have that in your system. and no, no one is going to get randomly drug tested in the airport. i can see a job testing, of course. and then, they´re testing for whatever kind of drug use. doesnt matter how or where you got thos drugs in your system, they´re in there, and that´s what they´re testing for. and since it isnt exactly legal in the place where you smoked it, it´s all the same. i have asked a human resources professional about this matter, and i was told that it probably wouldnt matter - you still have the drugs in your system. there´s always a loophole, though...
