I'm having such a hard time finding other ways to knot my hemp jewelry besides the standard "spiral" or "straight" knots.. Anyone have any tips? I'd love to learn to make something such as these: ^The particular one with the fancy knots and green bead is absolutely driving me nuts.. I'd love to learn how to make that one. And any instructions on how to make anything that is NOT jewelry are welcome too.. I just want to expand this enjoyable craft.. Anything you can teach me that is not those two simple knots (my stuff is getting rather repeatitive..) would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
just recently i discovered a pretty sweet variation on the regular square knot. you know how you usually have two knot making strings? well you can add as many more sets of knot making strings as you want. after making one square knot with one set of strings, let them dangle, then grab another set of knot making strings and make the next square knot. once you have made a square knot with each of the sets of strings, you go back to the first set and make the next knot with it. the knotting is wide and flat but you can use a bunch of colors and the resulting design can be sweeeeettttttttttt here is an example of something ive made using this method (sorry its so blurry and big
help! I'm lost! some time ago I tried out this knot that is really pretty, and now I can't reproduce it! I thought the instructions would be onhere or on the link above, but I can't seem to find them :/ this is a really bad picture of the knot. thank you!
Eek! I hate to be the one to bring a zombie thread (man this thing's old) lol but I've been 'hemping' for years. Once you know the square knot, then you can pretty much do every other knot. It will get tougher but easier at the same time I guess. I would say the fishbone knot is one to look into for anyone getting bored with the spiral and square knots. Here's one I have made: https://www.etsy.com/listing/150557...ref=shop_home_active&ga_search_query=fishbone If anyone wants help or advice with their macrame techniques, I am willing to help !
