Hi and peace and love and good thoughts to You!

I´ve had a few periods in my life when I´ve done meditative stretching with incense, certain music, certain lightning et cetera, on my own, in the evenings before falling asleep. I wouldn´t call it yoga cos what Ive understood is that yoga is a lifestyle as my thing used more to be a part of life. I wouldnt mind explaining more, but a good thing it was and I miss it.

Next fall Ill have a chance to try yoga in a group. I kind of would like to try but in a way Im afraid... For me its SO personal thing I feel it weird to do "in public" among others.

So, if u have been there doing that, please share with me the info on your opinion on is it better to yoga by yourself or in a group and why do u think the way u do.

    I'm a yogi.

I say that as one would declare themselves a baptist or a jew.

Yoga is first and foremost, a spiritual path.

The westernized versions put most of their teachings into the physical postures without grasping the deeper essence of what yoga actually is.

Whatever reasons you are drawn into yoga depend on what you're looking for. My path has always been a solitary one. Others prefer groups where they can trade ideas and mutual feelings. Its really a personal choice that will be individual to you.

My own yoga has become internalized. I no longer do anything external that anyone can see. But for you, I think a little interaction with like minded people would serve you well.

My yogi teaches but the spiritual and physical aspects of it. Good one, I think. :D
