Hi, I posted this before in another area. But I guess I should of posted this here, hindsight being 20-20. I'm new here and looking for like minded friends. I live in the past, as I hate the present. I realise hate is a strong word, though thats how I feel 'bout all the shit goin' down these days. Generally speaking people seem to be gettin' dumber by the minute. Globalization, Bush ... etc etc. you get the picture. When I was about 12, (circa 1972), myself and a few friends were gettin' high at the kitchen table and I remarked that when out generation gets old enough we would change things for the better. An older friend remarked that they'll just get worse. I disagreed with him. But he was totally correct. It was like all the hippies sold out and became the problem. What a bunch of fuckups they were, they had it in their hands and they let it slip away. Now, (w/ few exceptions), they're the assholes on Madison Ave. trying to sell us pills for imaginary conditions .. like restless leg syndrome. (If it dont get me high, I for one aint takin' it.) Life then was so much more laid back. For example, when I was in my early to mid teens, I used to hitchhike all over the place and never had a bad experience. On the contrary, alot of people that picked me up would get me high or take me to the bar for a drink. As the bars back then were alot more likely to serve minors. Nowadays I never even see a hitchhiker. The drugs were alot better then too. My first LSD trip was when I was 13. I took 2 hits of Purple Microdot. It was some clean shit and a great time. And the pot, Jamician Red, Acapulco Gold, Thai , etc etc. Haven't tasted anything as good in years. They say pot is more potent now. I dont know if I can't get as high now that I'm older or what, but I sure liked the dope back then alot better. As a matter of fact I can't think of anything that is better now as it was back then. Take the music then, it was real for the most part. Not like the producer driven crap they try to push on us these days. It's hard to put into words what I mean. I guess you had to have been there. You may think I'm looking at the past through rose coloured glasses. Though I really doubt it. All I know is people were alot cooler then, and by and large, alot nicer and easier going 'bout things. Though I know there was Nixon, Nam, Manson, Kent State, etc... things were far from perfect. But nothing near as evil as whats goin' down these days. I hope I'm not alone in these thoughts. that's a bit of a depressing way to look at life... ah well... hopefully if things are as bad as you think, they can only get better.
You'll live to see it get worse hun. I have no doubt. Sorry if that bums ya out. The truth usually does sting tho.
haha no, it doesn't get to me. i never experienced Life In The Good Old Days so I won't know what I'm missing. good weed, apparently...
