On saturaday I will be going on a 3 day hike in New Hampshire, do you think by any chance amanitas or magic mushies grow in NH? It is cool/warm and is fairly humid at higher elavations. BTW can amanitas be eaten fresh?
roast over a fire if you're camping. wasson's crew only had one experience on par with soma descriptions, and it was after a guy did this
I don't reccomend eating these mushrooms unless an experienced person is picking and drying them. Where I am, they only grow up north and some of them don't get too red. They grow in a lot of places, so I'd say you may find some. Good luck with tripping, but be extremely cautious...
Contrary to what Colimon says, you have to be completely mental to mistake the Amanita Muscaria mushroom for any 'deadly' amanita mushrooms. I know from experience that amanitas grow all over southern NH. They come out around, nowish and take over in the fall. Last year i collected about 5 pounds of wet mushrooms, Yellow orange white spots, brown orange, tan spots. The first im assuming is America Amanita (much less red coloring than european. IE: yellow) The second being Pantherina. They grow up to about a foot wide and if you follow the instructions on the internet are generally quite safe to trip on. White mushrooms are not safe, do not eat the mushroom if the color is too washed off to tell what it was originally. If it doesnt have off white/white warts, its not the right thing. Be careful, know your dosage, have fun, don't blame me if you hurt yourself by listening to my instructions without question. Remember they're legal so if you panic and think your dying call poison control and they will get you straightened out. (if you take mushrooms from where i live ill hunt you down) Peace
I was hiking through the woods in Upstate NY and I came across wjat I thought was Amanita Muscaria. I took a picture but the quality is not that good. This pic was taken on a phone about a week ago. .....
