would it be ok if I told people about my eBay store?

I will definitely consider making it a proper online store here when I have enough money to invest to do it, as that would be a fantastic way to attract the right kind of people and expand it. The plan is to do it as an eBay store with "dropshipping" trial stock, and then to in time invest in proper stock for the eBay store and then get things really moving, hopefully on to a normal town centre stall and then maybe a travelling festival-to-festival stall with friends :)

but, we all need to start somewhere! At the moment we are only really selling eco gadgets and outdoor things, and promoting the Green Party, Triodos and Ecotricity, but in the long run I want to be sellingfair trade goodies, CND merchandise, organic hemp clothes, fair trade trainers, herbs, poi, candles and maybe other things.

So what do you think? :) Would it be ok to put a link here for now to get a bit of business? You have my 100% guaruntee and word that if it becomes successful enough for me to invest the money and it is appropriate to advertise a UK online shop on here then I will consider it a lot, as in many ways it is better than eBay or at least a very worthwhile second online home.

Thank you, whether you say yes or no,

    Hoppi :)

I think it is ok, provided there is some sort of hip theme. Not on this board though. I'm sure there's a specific 'hipstore' board on the main page somewhere.

haha yes i am in fact! i'm on both! ^_^

do you have the same alias on both of them? Not sure if I've seen you around at least by your current nickname, maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention though :)

So where should I post the link? and yeah it has a very hippyish theme to it! The whole motivation behind it is promoting good causes and making a living in an independent and flexible (and fun!) way :)

    Hey Hoppi,
Yeah im on TL too, only just discovered it fairly recently though!
Whats the name of your ebay shop so I can look it up? :)
Im not sure where you could post a link, one of the Bourgeoisie here might be along soon.

I see nothing wrong with it. People posts links to stores on Ebay under Arts & Creativity when they have made stuff. And to Etsy as well. So, don't see why it would be a problem to post your store full of things that those of us in the UK might be curious to look at.

oh, just don't post the link in your sig, as that's not allowed by the site. :)
start a thread about it in Randomness or something or on here. then you can post a link in your sig to the thread that you post about the store. (if that makes sense).

ok thanks a lot! I've done both now, a thread has been started in randomness and i will change my sig to point at it, that should really help me to get it some attention :)

    Thank you!

Hoppi ... if you go into User Control Panel, the table on the far left will change with options. First one is Edit Signature. :)

And yes, apparently you can't post offsite links in your sig; however you can post onsite links. so, if you have a pic or other thread you want to link to (as long as it's somewhere in the Hip Forums) you are ok.

as long as i am understanding the 'rules' clearly. :)

oh, it's not there O.O i hope i didn't violate the rules or anything and get it removed, there is a chance I may have put a link to a site like triodos or green party or something random like that, but wouldn't I have gotten a warning or PM if that had been a problem?

confused as to what is not there ... your sig? or the option to change the sig?

if the option isn't there you may want to ask about it here it's the official 'user support' thread on the main site and a more informed mod will help you I'm sure. :) My 'modding' abilities begin and end in the UK Book Club; so I'm not much help really. :)
