This is my theory of today's evolving society. First a short explanation of the term "Ant-hill society" : This reffers to a ant-hill, a ant-hill has a typical hierarchy, they have different sorts of workers, and other classes.. but since i didn't studied biology you should consult another source about these classes. In a ant-hill every ant has its own task, this task is already predefind when he's still sleeping in his egg. When he pops out and gets more mature he will start gathering leaves so that future larves won't die, why is he doing this? Well, if he won't do this there might be no future for his comfortable ant-hill. Now you might wonder : What have f*cking arse ants to do with our noble race of humans wich are oh so superior *if you didn't noticed, this was sarcasm*. This is my vision: A society can go either two ways : left and right. When a society goes left, it means that humans as individu are getting more independant from authorities and have more freedom in choices. In the other way, when a society temps to go right, humans will be much more dependable of superiors, they will get much more and more naieve and won't be able to have a own opinion. This is were it all comes together : Due our large numbers, the need to create a vaster hierarchy gets higher, this is just a natural thing, if we would all be freeminded individuals we wouldn't be productive. Well now you might wonder : i still don't see us walking around as ants. From what i think, forming a true ant-hill society takes ages, even thousands of years, and because this proces is so slow people won't even notices this happening. When i walk around i do see that people are getting more naieve every day, many people take things that are being said as granted they don't even think about it. They believe everything that's being said in the media, even tho the media includes alot of lies, or are only telling half the story. I see less and less freeminded people every day, even tho the number of alternative people grows every seconds, so does the number of mainstreamers. People think less and start believing more. Another thing is that the goverment gets more and more grip on people's live, they start controlling our lives more and more (but i can write pages about this so i'll leave this for a later post). A clear example is that when i would ask a mainstreamer, what do you think of anarchy. He would stare with open eyes at me and say : C-H-O-A-S If i would ask him, why would it be choas? then he would say "because there are no laws". Believe me, many people think this way. I would rather think "What the hell, we don't need laws to be human". Not all of us are murderers or rapers, it are only a little few. Mainstreamers were the things that helped dictators dictate, because they couldn't form a own opinion about the subject and believed most of what those dictators claimed to be rightious. This is my vision of society, please don't start flaming because of it, critics are welcome. ps: sorry for the crappy english.
Yeah, I totally dig what you mean. THe mainstream thought process today is built to make the people be manipulated. That, my friend, will be true chaos, chaos within control.
I disagree with a society going either right or left. There's never just 2 sides to any option, there's always an infinite amount of ways that something can unfold. For instance, society could realize that they don't need any government and just be free themselves. This would eliminate right/left, correct/wrong, etc... I really like your analogy of the Ant Hill view You hit that part spot on
