I stayed there in March and the University of Sussex decided to put me up in "Europe's Biggest Gay Hotel". So I can tell you it has the biggest gay hotel in Europe. I wasn't actually sure if it meant that the hotel was the biggest or that the gay people that frequent it were themselves exceedingly large. They looked normal sized to me, but I didn't really get to know any of them well enough to say definitively.

Ok well as showmet pointed out it does have a wonderfuly large gay population.

However it also has the Laines! :D which is a series of streets with little shops and things. Its an incredibly alternitive area full of free minded and open people.
If you hang about at the beach you find peope on djembi drums. Its also full of travelers and people who do things like staff, poi, diabolo and fire breathing :)

Yeah, but do you mean it has a population of big gays, or a large population of normally sized gays?

    *none the wiser*

the fact is he wants to travel. I'd say do it, find people you know in certain places and go there. There doenst have to be "something there" for you to go... the desire to be moving should be drive enough.

    the drive is enough, definately...
i'm just trying to figure out which drive is biggest, which country, what i want to get/learn/achieve.

i wish i didn't work at ASDA it fries my brain with boredom i lose the capacity to think.

I'd say that it's the gay community that plays a big part of Brightons
    uniqueness and liberal attitude...
