so i have a plant thats about 2 weeks old, and recently holes started popping up in the leaves. i checked it today and it looks more like something is eating the leaves and i found a small caterpillar on it. do you think that's what is doing it?

Yup. A caterpillars are bastards to any grower, dude, whether you're growing veggies or marijane, them suckers are no good. I had a caterpillar DEVOUR almost a third of my plant one year when I was growing outside. You would have never thought something so small could eat so damn much.

Anyways, you should try and get some neemoil to spray on your leaves. If you can't find any neemoil, make a garlic tea and use that, it should keep them and other potential pests away. If it's a very young plant, you will want to dilute the mixture.

    Best of luck ~

i read that if you soak some cigarette butts in some water overnight and spray it on there it'll keep the bugs away, so i did that today.

apparently bugs don't like the taste of nicotine, we'll see if it works.
if not i'll definitely try some neem oil

another mix you can do that is real easy.......

4 cloves, not heads, cloves of garlic
    1 tablespoon of Tobasco sauce
    1 pint water

blend the water, garlic, and tobasco sauce until well mixed. I like to let this mixture sit for about an hour. Then strain out the tiny pieces of garlic (they will clog your spray bottle if you don't) and put the liquid into a spray bottle. Works excellent on all chewing insects.
