    3. It has the same effects as achlohaul(or however the fuck you spell it)
    4. Its not as dangerous as they lable it too be.
    5. I could relax legally(laughs).
    6. Smoking cigs sucks.
    7. and, life would be better.

if you have anymore to add, or you have anything to say about what i just posted, feel free to respond.

i hate to burst your bubble but none of those are really legit reasons for it to be legal.
There are some good reasons to legalize it though.

yeah those are classic examples of personal reasons to legalise it, but for it to actually be leglised, whoever the fuck legalises it would need real reasons. but im with you on the whole legalisation thing.

i think legalizing pot would severely help the economy through imports and exports, etc. BUT from a true smokers standpoint, i actually dont want it to be legalized. i just got back from amsterdam and if any of yall have been there, the shit is gross and the quality is horrible. if weed was legalized, government would be able to control which varieties are allowed, making the ones that arent a whole lot more expensive (and still illegal). also, there would probably be a strong tax put on marijuana and, lets face it, we already have enough taxes.

i hate to break it to you, hippiechile, but your reasons are just reasons that keep illegal smokers still smoking (me), not actual reasons to legalize it.

i know these opinions may be new to yall but please respond! i would love to hear what yall think.

Sorry guys, truth be told, and many of you already know this... There are absolutely no reasons that the government would accept as a reason to legalize weed...

In a nutshell, and I apologise to those who still believe in democracy... We live in a world controlled by money.. our governments (yours and mine), have not, and will not look out after your interests... they look out after the interests of large corporations (such as Molson’s, Bacardi, Pharmaceutical companies, etc, etc). It has been known for many years that THC can kill cancer cells... it is not only safe, but beneficial... Dude, the government does not care... Too many companies that would loose money if weed was legal.. Pharmaceutical companies would rather sell you their drugs... then let you take your own natural drugs... the government would rather you drink their drugs, and smoke their drugs... thank take your own... Think about it, do you think they care if you get lung cancer? do you think they care if your teen dies on the road because of alcohol? do you think they care if you die fighting in Iraq?

Its never been about a good reason... its always been about money... You have no president over there, There is no commander in chief.... We have no Prime minister here... they are just two dudes representing the needs of the wealthy....

    I need a bowl..
    Peace everyone

As sad as it is, it's true and I agree with you 100% on this one, Soc. It really does all boil down to the almighty dollar, and as it stands right now, the government is making a really nice hunk of cash prosecuting marijuana users -- medical or otherwise.

The government is not going to legalize anything that it cannot make certain it will be able to control with total absolution. And you can't very well control what people can grow on their own.

a good reason is cuz its the number one cash crop in the country and the government could tax it and make a shitload of money. also the money wont be in the hands of shady dealers.

    Na, That would not work.

See, smokers cannot usually grow and make their own cigarettes... so the government monopolizes... alcohol, your allowed to make beer and wine... but if you do it, its so much work (and does not taste consistent). Weed however, you can grow next to your tomatoes... and if you don't, your friends and neighbours will.... they would not make any profit from weed being legalized... but they stand to loose a lot if it is.

I know it sucks... but you are right about one thing.... it is about "controlling". ya know.

The gov. is more worried about sick people growing and costing the pharmaceutical industry billions of dollars in revenue than they are about you wanting to smoke. I'd say 85% know weed is no big deal, but they make more money keeping it illegal b/c of the pharmaceutical industry's pay-offs than they could get from legalizing it.

I can't blame them either, personally legal or not idc. I don't understand why so many people put stock in laws. Laws are meant to regulate the people and that's fine, but if your smart and responsible you will never get caught. In fact once you get your own place you can grow with a minimal investment and smoke weed for less than $1 a gram

I firmly believe you should be an adult before you smoke alot. I feel I smoke too much being 18 and I don't think any of the 16 and under crowd should smoke more than once a month.

The only reason I wish pot was legal was so that i didn't have to worry about drug tests in the process of starting my career. Aside from that it may as well be legal already.

Good post. I agree. Even those that think the prices would drop should consider what some of MM providers charge - some are equivalent to street prices - which is about a 300% markup from their operating expenses.

I hope for decriminalization. Drug test are only there to bust pot smokers.

You gotta love it though "But your Honor, it makes me feel good" :)

well, replying to the OP, the general idea is obviously good (all smokers agree on this and always have) but your reasons are weird. the most irritating is the same effect as alcohol one, i just totally fail to see what's that all about? alcohol makes people stupid, it confuses them, nothing is logical, it just plain sucks. alcohol is simply something babylon people use to confuse people and keep 'em away from thinking too much. weed however just takes your mind state to a different level and in that state you have the power to think through all the lies and bigger campaigns and conspiracys in the world, it just opens your mind and if you do it right, it helps you to "emancipate yourself from mental slavery".

i probably made my thought sound like some classical pothead rant, but i can't do any better right now...its not my fault our current ways to express ourselves just lack a lot, if it'd be safe to allow recording thoughts of those levels correctly the world wouldn't work like it does today and all the corruptness and the huge life size puppet show would probably fall since everyone would realize how fake and ..fuck, what's the word *opens dictionary* ...superficial/depthless everything is. i feel i could write a fricken book right now but it wouldn't help since the real thoughts wouldn't get to people 'cause of the well thought through ways to limit people's awareness.

that's probably the main reason i see why it will never be 100% accepted by countries, even if the 'simple' people realize this, the politicians and whatnot will still find ways to brainwash them.

aghh im way too baked to keep on typing right now, catch a ride on my train of thought and see how long it takes you. i'll just leave with a bob marley quote, "alcohol is the destruction of nations, herb is the healing of nations".

    w/e, peace

Oh man I wrote a loong rant on drugs yesterday so the reasons are fresh in my memory.

    Weed should be legal because:
-alcohol and nicotine is legal and more damaging to your body
-alcohol is a much more dangerous drug than marijuana
-marijuana is the only illegal drug that is known to actually be good for you
-it is known to attack cancers and tumors
-it relieves stress and anxiety which causes health problems
-smoking marijuana is about the same level of high of drinking coffee
-yes some people can freak out on weed, but I have had bad times from a caffeine high (it has given me intense anxiety)
-it is simply not a harmful drug to our bodies and to people around us (unlike alcohol)
    -everyone does it anyway!

I think those are some pretty good points. But, its really because of money that weed isn't legal, which is pretty sad.

Well if you drink it everyday you have a tolerance for it and you don't feel the effects. I have a low tolerance for coffee and I stopped drinking it everyday and now it literally gets me high... even a little bit. But thats legal so weed should be too!

I really like your idea's there, in fact it rides really close to some truths for myself. Weed has helped me grow and realize who I want to be as a person. Corny as it sounds, I may not smoke weed for all the same reasons most people do, and I feel that if others looked at it the same way, it would have a higher chance of becoming legal. Perhaps if somehow we could change the way the stereotype of the stoner "looked," we could make it more of an appeal. (without getting too mystical and creepy of course =P)

But also to add to the list of WHY it should be legalized...

THC contains chemicals that supress not only the carcinogens that marijuana carries, but also the ones that may already be in your body.

Nicotine, outside of being harmful to yourself, actually activates the carcinogens that tobbacco carries. It's the complete opposite.

    Marijuana>Cig's
