extraction help needed

alright playing around with morning glorys and took around 28g of finely powdered seeds, put them in a jar of wood alcohol then eveporated all the alcohol. After that i was left with a bit of oil and yellow sap like stuff, i put that in a test tube and covered with lighter fluid (with no additives ect). Shook it and let it sit in darkness for an few hours. When i looked at it agian it had 3 layers. bottom layer look yellow like after you drank a energy drink and took a piss, slightly cloudy,

middle layer is a dark yellow very cloudy with specks of gray dirt,

top layer is tinted yellow and very very clear. there is equal amounts of the top and bottom layers but a very small amount of the middle layer.

Anyone have a guess at what each layer could be?...

 

bottom IS piss after you drank an energy drink, middle is mud, top is herion. sorry I have no clue man.

 

your description makes little sense. how is the middle layer cloudy and clear?? It sounds like you have a suspension or perhaps just an unclear interface, which is not all that surprising with (?) amides and fatty acids.

if you have a centrifuge you might be able to extract something of interest...or you could filter with vac, and see what ya have...you can always evaporate again and try another method. 28 g of MG seeds will not leave you with much to work with...

 

fixed...i meant cloudy....I know it's not alot to work with. Seeing how i didn't know if it would work i didn't want to use alot of my seeds. I still want to find a better way to extract lsa without having to drink alot of alcohol, like no more that wat is in 1-2 beers, to trip.

 

evaporation, what a concept...I hear ya though alcohol and ls* is not a particularly enlightening experience.

 

The top layer is your solvent, which should be where the alkaloids are. The middle layer is an emulsion. The bottom layer is fats/oils, etc. If you let it sit long enough, the emulsion should dissolve back into your other layers. Once this happens, siphon off your solvent and evaporate.
