Hey I've been reading up on lucid dreaming and noticed that having good dream recall is seemingly very important to having lucid dreams. I got a bit worried at this because I tended not to remember my dreams, but over the past week, I've actually made an effort to remember my dreams and have consistently done so! I think over the past 7 days, I've remembered 8 dreams which is great. So I guess I'm just trying to say (to those of you that don't know) that dreaming isn't just a passive experience that some people just have more than others - you need to actually try to have dreams. I think that all this dreaming business is really great and it's opened up a very interesting section in my life so I highly recommend reading up on it a bit more. I'm very ignorant on the topic still so any advice on lucid dreaming would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
hey, glad to hear you've been having some success I think there have been a few threads on lucid dreaming already, and you probably know the basics. My favorite trick (that I've heard, still never been able to induce it myself) is the one where you pick something that frequently happens in your dreams but not in your waking life, and tell yourself that when X occurs, you will know you are dreaming. I hear from others it is quite effective. Best of luck!
The one hard part that I have with lucid dreaming is when something so bizarre happens that I wake up, because I know it's a dream. I can't just stay 'in the dream' whilst knowing it's a dream! I'm still trying to get better at it though, but for the past 3 or 4 days I haven't been able to dream at all... so that's pretty bizarre too. In either case, it's an interesting topic. Ever look into Astral projection?!
Something you might wanna try: dreaming while awake. Not fully awake, perhaps, but in the zone where you have woke up but not gotten up. That is, you can generate dream fragments while conscious. What it feels like to me is that I'm relaxing a muscle, 'letting go', and images appear. Although they seem more discontinuous and speeded up than regular dreams, and that's why I call em fragments.........
