The other day, I asked my friend who's been smoking weed with me almost every day for the past month or so:

Do you like smoking? Like, the act of smoking. Breathing in smoke from a burning tube of Weed/Tabacco .

I enjoy it. I like mechanics of how it works, and it just feels nice just doing it.
He agreed with me, but then went on to say "I like the smoking part more than actually being high." He said he'd like to start smoking Cigarillos instead of weed when we go out to smoke... : S

My brain went in two directions:
    - Perhaps he only thinks he's getting high, when he's only getting a very slight buzz. Generally a result of not inhaling properly.
    - Maybe he just doesn't like being high.

First of all, what would you guys think if your pot-smoking buddy said that to you?
Secondly, are there any of you that just don't like the effects of cannabis?

i like smoking as much as i like smoking pot... i don't think i could ever own a vape for the simple fact that there is no smoke.. if i want smokeless marijuana.. i'll eat it

I love both smoking weed and the effects. Im the only person I know though that doesn't really like smoking weed out of a bong. You just go through it so quickly, I would much rather smoke a bowl or bubbler and make it last. Hot smoke doesn't bother my lungs to much anyway

Next time you see him question him about what he meant. I love being high and I love the taste and smell of weed... the mellow feeling you get at first then the trippy forgetfulness.

I know what he means about the act of smoking weed, I love the act of delicatley opening my foil (weed wrapped in tin foil), carefully selected some nice nuggs, carefully picking them up and placing them gently in the bowl, and most of all I love the smell. I think it is fun in the prep.
To get onto the actual high, I love most aspects of heing high, I also dont like the increased heart rate. So I would say that they go hand in hand with the whole experience, but I do like the actual high just a little bit more.

i enjoy the entire process of it all. the smell, the smoke, the pieece, the sitting back and just tasting that freshness....

i also enjoy the effects of the herb. altough, im not too fond of the tiredness that is associated with mids.

I dont particularly care for the effectos of marijuana.
I did, however, have an obsession for it between
    the ages of 12-18.
Then I found God lol ~

It depends I guess, I like smoking alone or with 1-2 friends but no more than that. When I smoke weed I become very anti-social, I'm not sure why. Just get caught up in the buzz, but its fun to do with other drugs thats for sure.

i am alot like your friend,i love the actual smoking part, getting high is fun,but if im at a party then i really only want like 1 hit of a joint/blunt/ w/e. I have wished for a while i could have some kind of weed that is roughly as potent as shwag but gives the same effects of KB, thus i would be able to smoke alot without getting completely blazed. Other times tho i do just want to get high with a few friends or by myself, then the super potent stuff is just fine!.
And i have come to the point where i only really smoke blunts/joints, if someone is passing around a pipe im not going to turn my hit down, but nothing as relaxing as just sitting back smokin a blunt.

    I go through phases.
If I'm felling deppresed or fell like my anxiety will come back I don't smoke, but if all is good I tend to smoke to much. : p

smoking is fun. its never as much fun as it is when on speed. i still shiver with reminiscence when i think back to times ive been high on meth and had a bowl of weed chopped and ready to go. oh man.

but.... i like being high more than the act of smoking, smoking is just a very enjoyable part of it all.

I love smoking and i love being high. I love how everything seems easy and funny, how all your problems go away for a few hours, but something i hate is working or doing something that takes mental activity because then i really fuck up, like mowing the lawn, going to work or school, or any shit like that, but i love just sitting around with a few buds and hitting that indo and getting high as fuck!

I had a bit of a phase where I thought smoking was great.

My friend has a shisha and we smoked that a lot one summer. I really enjoyed just sitting around with some friends talking or listening to music whilst the hookah bubbled away. I learnt to make smoke rings and soon after that I smoked cigarillos at partys and stuff for a while just so I could blow smoke circles. Hahaha. I soon got fed up with the taste and smell of them but I still love the shisha and messing about with the really thick and flavoured smoke.

I dunno bout your friend. Just talk about it. Weed and Cigarillos are miles apart for me. I'm interested to find out what your friends reasoning is actually.

As for being high, to me thats the whole point of smoking, though I still enjoy the process and the social side of passing round a joint or whatever. However I seem to enjoy coming up, and the first 30mins or so of the high far more than anything else. After that effects start wearing off for me. Most likely crap weed. But I just spark up again :)
