k, so theres this song i really wanna play, and the chords are pretty basic but.. im more of a finger picking person -- i cant strum for shit. lol
- neutral milk hotel - in the aeroplane over the sea - classical guitar. lol, i know, my threads are very vague most of the time. i just like getting to the point.
Oh, I play NMH songs all the time. Um... I know the chords, and I'm assuming you do, too, but I don't think I can really help you with the strumming. But yeah, it's a really basic song if you can get the strumming pattern down. Well... good luck.
You should learn it every possible way you can... with a pick, without... avant-garde, etc. Just because it's classical doesn't mean it's always about class. Sometimes it's about what you can pull out of your ass.
I can strum but I can't pick. We should form a band, with our talents combined we could take over the world.
haha, good idea! ^ seriously, im trying to strum here... and it just sounds awful.. i have no rhythm. lol
i suck at picking. try a metronome. if you strum every time it clicks (start on a slow tempo) then eventually it will sound good. but srsly, i would love to have the problem you have. picking is generally a lot harder than strumming.
thats a good idea, except i dont have a metronome. but i will start slow.. until i've got it all right.
update: OMG i can strum now!!! lol that only took a day and a half... not nearly as great as i'd like... but ya know.. theres no rush.. now to strum and sing at the same time.. practicing DOES pay off :O lol
There is no better way to keep yourself entertained than to bang out songs on an acoustic guitar. I can spend hours doing it... daily. My neighbors probably hate me.
