how many of you have experienced this mentality while under the influence? it seems like a popular concept among the lsd community. when i say hivemind i mean feeling "one" with all living things on earth and the earth itself, as if earth was one supercomplex system all functioning in sync. thoughts?
Who says you need to be under the influence of drugs to feel this way? This is the fundamental principle behind Buddhism.
I went to a rave in a pub with live DJs (hardcore, psy trance, stomp etc) on my first time on acid. I felt at one with everyone there, and as if I could hear everyone's thoughts, like everyone was speaking at once. I was in there for about 2 hours, it was intense and I got really hot and sweaty (proceeding to send all my text messages signed "Love Captain Sweatyballs x x x). After a while all the voices were too much so I stepped outside. When I got outside, I told my friend I was dripping with peoples thoughts, which I called 'Rave Juice' (I realise now it was sweat). When I was outside, all the voices slowly drained away, off my body, and got quieter, until they were just a low buzz, kind of a background noise. It felt like I imagine Enlightenment feels (bringing up Buddhism).
I compared life to the Bees once. They all live, sleep in the hive. When summer rolls around, they all get out, meet their friends, mother, queen... Just live based on the cycle they were given. Kind of communist in a way lol.
i personally dont believe in hivemind, although i have experienced it while on lsd. there is too much inconsistency in the natural world for me to believe that.
second post I like. Sorry to sound do judgemental but yeah.... the fact that all of nature and the universe is so precise means we are at one with the universe. there are surely many immutable "laws" which apply to all. Not to say we're not all individual, but we're so definitelly the same also.
ya I definitely feel we're on connected, and I did very much so on mescaline. however, I wouldn't use 'hivemind' because of how Leary used it to explain terrestrial politics
I've experienced it once, and everytime since I've realized that it's not a hivemind but rather One Mind and we are all One Being Hivemind is still a seperation and there's no seperation in Oneness
