This Place Is Not The Same

The CHRISTIAN Forums were once full of good debate.

I have encountered and started several threads here in the past (Just type in LIBERTINE in the Search under Christianity and check it out for yourselves), but lately it's become bland.

It has become anti-Christianity run amok. While I have no problem with anti-Christian statements, where is the debate?

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE?!

As a devout atheist I also get off on good debate and conversation...

This place has been wasted.

It has been bombarded with tripe and not enough intelligent discussion.

Plus I thinked most of em are scared of fed-up

 

Lib, your main nemeses Campbell and JDFU got banned, then all the other Christian regulars left on their own.


Fedup has pretty well cleared the deck of any remaining opposition.

 

Perhaps they all went and changed into humble, charitable
people, or perhaps they even went and got a real life?
Who knows.

 

I guess most of the Christians aren't into S&M. Why would any sane person (I concede I'm not in that category) with anything better to do continue to post on this site, when most of the people here, even the site administrator ,made clear early on that they hate our guts and will not engage in any discussion beyond the level of crude stereotyping, cusswords, and insults? You can't have your Christians and eat (as in devour) them too.

 

fed up id dissagree with the fact of us christians haveing a dillusion all have there own belief and its good just the fact extremist are bad all must learn to accept eachother and be ok with the differences tho debate is alwways fun the insulting and mis understandings and unnacceptance humans give eachother is sad and dumb bush is retarted and made a big thing between christians and muslims its dumb because they believe in the same god i know some muslims say allah and god are the same god just with a different name they even have jesus as a profit and yes while religion may cause conflict is it the beliefs thought or that of the humans who cant accept someone believs something else really people just need to shut up and accept others truly same thing with nationality and such things all is stupid we are all humans and should accept we are all the same yet also different and be friendly terms with all

 

i myself wouldnt mind a debate long as it was with someone not retarted like one thats about the issue and not about insulting the person through it just i dont totally see the point i mean fedupamerican for example if i were to debate to you my beliefs and you debated yours myne being christian and urs being against christian and religion itself im guessing do you think either of us would ever even in a debate of 1000 years day and night if it were possible change our minds about what we believe i seriously doubt it so yeh still dont really see the point you and the other person are getting at with the debates and all. though a debate wouldnt be a bad thing can be fun and can learn new and interesting things about people and the way people think by argueing points with others.

 

I'm probably about to get myself banned again. I hope not. But, I feel the need to speak on this. You can't debate Christianity around here. While FedUp is an intelligent guy who makes clear concise arguments...If stuff gets out of hand you get banned. If I quote the Bible it's an offense. If I ask why someone else was banned it's an offense. There's different playing rules for the Christians around here.

There was a guy named Cat Stevens who used to continually spam this forum. It was never a problem. He spammed the Atheist forum. He got banned.

That being said it's Skip's forums and Skip's rules. He did create Sanctuary for us. Which I am grateful for. I do miss tussling about religion with you guys because it makes me think about my own convictions. If I might be suspended or banned for it though it makes me apprehensive about it.

Sorry, man. I've been out of pocket for awhile and couldn't respond. You took my remarks too personally. I didn't mean that you ever stated that you hate my guts. I did get the distinct impression when I first started exploring this site that you, Liroy, Skip, and some of the others regarded Christians as scum of the earth, the way David Duke regards African Americans--and I think a lot of us deserve it. You & I made peace, and I know now you've got a good heart and good intentions, so I apologize for whining from time to time. I was just trying to answer the question "Where have all the Christians gone?"

As for the debate, that requires a certain level of civility, and a discipline not to get personal & not to get off the subject. As you may have picked up, my Christianity is pretty bare bones, without most of the doctrines in the Apostle's creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed that most Christians think define Christianity. I agree with a lot of what you say, although not the way you say it. Elsewhere, I've described myself as "Christian humanist", "Christian existentialist", and even "Christian agnostic" to indicate that Christianity is for me an ethical system and a set of metaphors and allegories to live by, geared toward loving our neighbor and helping those in need. So what's to debate?

 

It's because I haven't been on this forum for 2 years now. Or so. lol. *GASP* FIRST POST BY ME IN THE CHRISTIAN FORUMS IN TWO YEARS!!!

Seriously, I've matured in my faith, thank God, so I try to stay away in arguments. Because God hates it when I argue. ._.

WHAT? HE GOT BANNED? WHEN? DDD: HOW? I didn't even see banning-potential in him.

 

I thought He was supposed to be a God of Love? So why should He hate anything? He after all, is said to be the one who created humans with their propensity to think, and therefore disagree with others.
Jesus Himself argued a lot with people like religious authorities - did God hate Him too because he argued?

 

Well, it's not as much arguing as it is quarreling. Jesus didn't really do what I consider arguing, he never fought with anyone about beliefs, he only said how it was, he didn't fight back or anything, just simply explained to people what they were asking. God hates sin, and He hates things like rape and murder. Are you saying I should desire rape and murder?
