    http://www.mamashealth.com/men/shavechest.asp

I found an excellent website but I have to admit I take exception with this subgroup article. I have a hairy chest and would not shave it unless I were in need of surgery. My skin is quite sensitive and shaving the chest hair leaves the skin open to abrasion. I also would grow it back relatively quickly and that is more uncomfortable than having the hair shaven off.

I personally prefer nonhairy chests, but I would never requset that a partner shave their chest. I imagine waxing is proibably more efficient anyways (no chance of knicking the nipples anyways)

I have always liked men's body hair natural and don't understand why some remove it. Seems you be the younger crowd though.

A little bit of chest hair is good but not too much in my opinion and really noticeable hair on your back is disgusting to me.

I have a bit of chest/stomach hair, but nowhere near a 'sweater'. It never bothered me, but last night after talking to my girlfriend (who loved my stomach and chest), I decided to shave it. I must say, it's pretty nice.

To each his own, I say. If you have a preferance, then go for it :)

Personally, I think you're going down a slippery slope when shaving places not usually needing to be shaved... It's enough of a hassle shaving me face, let alone having to worry about keeping my chest smooth! That's far too much pressure! lol

The key point in the article seems to be that chest hair should be groomed if it gets caught in clothing or zippers. My own growth isn't quite that lush, so I haven't had to worry about it. However, if a guy has that problem, I can see how trimming it might be a way to deal with it.

shaving your chest fur is really stupid...i agree with Jim...shaving my face each morning is bothersome enough...why would i want to complicate my life by "having" to shave my chest? sheesh! now some guys are even shaving their pits...yikes! how weird is that? trimming okay, but shaving...no way!

I'm a sucker for a nice soft and hairy chest. I think chest hair is awesome and it doesn't have to disappear dammit! I love playing with it. I'll admit it.

I knew a guy that shaved his chest once. yeah, don't do it. He had a lot of irritation, and it looked frikin weird when it started to grow back.

    Eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, please, please don't shave your chests, men! I could see doing it if you're a competitive swimmer -- I still think that is incredibly unattractive, but at least it makes sense for them.

I have never heard of anyone having so much body hair that they had problems with getting it caught in zippers... Of course, how many shirts have zippers these days?

Has anyone actually had this problem of getting chest hair tangled in zippers or buttons or whatever?

I'm in the same boat as eyezofanangel. My boyfriend's Italian, and very hairy. I'd never want him to shave it off, though. Its so nice to snuggle with! :)

not an option for me as i have absolutely no chest hair at all, so natural and blad are one and the same for me!!

the only bit of hair i do remove on my upper body is on my back, just above my butt there is a tiny patch (about the size of a dollar bill) that grows very wirey, and is very irritating. as there is no other upper body hair anyway, i get it waxed off about once every 3 months.

it used to drive me absolutely nusts, especialy when sitting in my car, as it felt like i had wire wool stuffed down my back

wow, way to bring back an old thread huh?

Unless there is some practical reason for that, like being a swimmer or going under the knife, there is no good reason for that.
it is unnatural, and very unmanly...
why fight nature? especially when it blesses you?!

It is disrespectful to your ancestors who gave you the great genetics that allow you to grow hair.

I could probably pull all my chest hair with tweezers in less time than it takes to rub my chest with shaving cream, so I never thought about it. That said, I rarely bother to shave my face so even if I had chest hair, I'd never shave it.
