He had an extra devise that was taken to eb extra padding so he didn't have to worry about being hit, enabling him to lean further over the plate to hit outside pitches. People are also saying that it kept his arm in the right form when he swung making his hits more accurate. What a douchebag.

I'm not a big baseball guy, but I think Babe Ruth will always be the real home run king. He was hitting more homers than entire teams in a single season. I think the career HR record was something like 250 when he came into the league... 714, good LORD.
But you've got to remember the different style of ball played before Ruth entered the league. It wasn't about hitting the long ball, the hitting style was referred to as punch and judy. IT was more about shallow outfield hits not over the fences.
That's very true, I just feel like Ruth was so head and shoulders above the rest of his peers that it can't be denied he is the true king. Bonds is great, but how much better is he (purely as a HR guy) than McGwire, Griffey, and others of this generation? Back in the day, there was Ruth, and no one else in his galaxy. And of course there is a difference in competition, etc., who knows how Ruth would fare today... but, I stand by it, I think Ruth is the all time King of Homers, no doubt about it in my mind
