weaving / knitting / crocheting with plastic bags?

does anyone hear knit/crochet with plastic bag pieces? i KNOW it can be done. i'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this, or weaving them.

i saw the bit on fusing plastic bags and want to try it... but i'm also interested in weaving... because i know in africa (because the plastic bag problem is so terrible there) they will weave them...

any thoughts?

thanks!! actually i found out if you google 'plarn' (plastic yarn) it comes up with some things... NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW... except i can't find my crochet hook
