I am just going to say fuck it and ask... atm I am only 17, I dont intend to try any for numerous years because I read it could really mess up brain developement. I smoke a lil bud now and then but its not the kind of high I'm looking for, I have yet to try shrooms but I am sure some will float by... Basically I am just wondering if being able to handle acid takes years of experiance with psychedelic drugs, since it is one of the most potent drugs. I want to try acid in particular, because I have read a good bit about the acid tests in the past and the drugs ability to cause "ego-death". I have been reading up on LSD and the more I read the more my interest grows. I know about set & setting and how mental illness can be dangerous with LSD. Insight from users would be great, dont mind a lecture.. I will check back here tommorow. (daily show on g2g =])
Psychedelics don't take years to be able to handle, you just have to start slow and sorta work you're way up. For example, its probably not a good idea to eat 5 hits on your first trip. Start out with 1 or 2 and go from there.
Just don't go about doign the amounts you'll need for ego death. If you've read a lot about it and you are confident in yoru ability to control yoru own mind set and you are not prone to mental illness then just start with half a hit. Although you may hallucinate for a small amount of time or may even not hallucinate at all you'll get teh feel and mental and emotional buzz of teh substance which will inform you how much you like it. Then you will know if you want to try more. butu yeah. don't make big jumpus up I would suggest. Send us a trip report when you're done!!!!
if you do it, you will handle it, and then you will have experience. you know about set and setting. you seem very intelligent and responsible. create a safe environment, let someone know what you're doing and keep their number handy just in case. if you take one hit, regardless of potency, i am sure you will come out just fine. in my opinion, bad trips happen because the user is in the wrong set and setting, or has personal issues that they have been avoiding which come up during the trip, or because the user doesn't understand what they are in for and doesn't know what is "normal" on acid and what they should be concerned about. if you are in a safe, solitary place, surrounded by things that make you feel comfortable, without stress or trauma, and if you are completely open to new experiences, you should be just fine. i don't like sitters, but maybe if you had one good friend who would trip with you you would feel more comfortable. i know i either have to have someone to talk to, or i have to be able to write. i've never heard of lsd messing with brain development... and one time is definitely not going to make you retarded . most people i've met our age who have done acid a few times are actually MUCH more intelligent than those who haven't. if you're really worried about it, and you have the option, i would do mushrooms instead of acid. mushrooms being completely natural, and the fact that they have been used for hundreds (maybe thousands) of years to alter consciousness, makes them seem a bit "softer". and it's easier to trust mushrooms (you can see them, they look like mushrooms, they couldn't possibly be anything else) than it is to trust a piece of blotter paper (it's dipped in a colorless, odorless, tasteless chemical, how are you supposed to know how it was made?) the trip is also a bit "softer". acid is a little more "electric" feeling. but i'm not saying i'm against you taking acid. your mindset about the trip will shape it, so if you are scared of acid messing with your brain you might trip on that and that wouldn't be good. but acid is definitely safe and i am sure you will be able to handle it.
I would dare to even suggest that people who did a lot of LSD as teenagers are now either messed up or more intelligent than average. (those being the two paths IMO)

Anyone who's ready will be able to handle a small to moderate dose of LSD. It's more your personality than your experience. High dosing is not advisable for someone new, though.
Apparently I came across like I wanted to bathe in it, not the case. =] One thing I am worried about is haveing someone take it with me or having someone be a sitter, I do know a friend who prolly would take some with me but he is one of those people who turn getting high (weed n what not) into a damn contest to see who can be higher(not my m.o), this would induce a bad trip right? Also, like I mentioned I am not a heavy/ habitual user of anything so knowing someone with acess to LSD would be a roadblock atm. Any suggestions other then looking for old hippies in gas station bathrooms? ps- Whats the shelf-life? Room temp and out of the sun, I cant put it in the fridge or something like that (parents)..
All you need is a human brain and the want to explore just how far it can go. As far as storing acid, use wax paper, then foil over that and keep it in a cool dark place and it will last for months, its not a problem. The first time I triped, I did it hard and alone, I wouldn't advise that, BUT the only reason I had a bad (half) a trip my first time was because I thought acid might make me go crazy or be killing my brain cells. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I have triped 100+ times and I find it more and more enlightening every time. As far as tripping with somone, only do it with a good friend, but I don't see the problem with him smoking lots of pot, often, when on acid or otherwise, it is fun to sometimes see how high you can become I definatly suggest taking like two hits and then going from there, I will say though to truly understand LSD or shrooms one must delve much further into the tripping experience!!! Also, LSD won't mess up your brain development. Have fun tripping, and theres no way to tell you where to get some.
coolest dryest place out of heat and light. Wrap it in foil or cling film if possible and store in a cool cupboard or something. As for sitters. if you're doign a small amount and your'e confident of yoruminde set I would say a sitter isn't important IMO. DOnt bother with teh contest mentality, its childish and stupid and wreaks of insecurities and validation seeking. Find a sober friend if you absolutely feel its necessary.
Well if you live in cali you shouldn't have too much trouble finding acid. I'd say ask around with 1. your stoner friends 2. your dealer (or whereever you get your weed) 3. older kids at school you kind of know and who do drugs. pry a few people can give you phone numbers of people that might know where to get some, who will give you numbers of people who know where to get some, who give you numbers of someone who sells.
hey my first time taking acid was with one tab and i got some pretty cool visuals, i think the reason why was because it was just ONE tab and i had alot of research and helpful insight before touching the drug. my friends who educated me on the drug told me to tell myself, it just a fucking drug and nothing can hurt you!!! trust me it helps. another thing to do is get the drug and wait a week before taking it. throughout the week clear your mind, cleanse your soul and dont make the trip the biggest thing in your life because you'll probably end up expiriencing sumthin totally different than wat you expected and end up havin a bad time. above all CLEAR YOUR MIND have a nice trip
i took two tabs of acid for my first psychedelic experience and had a great time. previously the only drug id tried was weed and only smoked that once and didn't like it. i was and still am 17. ive used a fair share of psychedelics including lsd, psilocybin, dmt, 2cb, mescaline, all numerous times (cept for the 2cb and mesc). psychedelics dont seemed to have screwed my brain at all, i just got an average of 80-90% in my final school exams which i did last week. but i will tell you this, it has certainly had a huge impact about the way i perceive and think about things. my thought process has been completely changed.
