When I was a teenager I was a little bit of everything. I still would be pretty much. I have always been a hippie, but you could also have called me emo if it was a thing back then because I cry about everything, probably would have dressed the part, listened to the music, and I was always writing poetry. I dressed like a prep at times, sometimes goth, sometimes grunge which was my main other label (after grunge was "out" people would call me a skank because of the way I dressed). I had many styles, and still do, but deep down I'll always be a hippie with a little bit of grunge.
I agree with you on that. The outlook on adolescent psychology and emotions have changed in other ways as well. People think they can fix anything with pharmaceuticals. When i was a child (5-6) i was an outgoing and creative child and my parent's put me on amphetamines to suppress these emotions. Then when i started to rebel in my teenage years i was put on anti-depressant's and alprozalam (xanax). I don't blame my parent's really, they we're just doing what my pedatrician suggested. This has become a huge epidemic which i am sure the most of you are aware of.
