The common house centipede... is the creepiest fucking bug ever. I found THIS :http://www.whatsthatbug.com/images/house_centipede_vegetarian.jpg in my room about 5 minutes ago. This is the second one I've seen in my room (the last one invaded my comfortable little pad on 4/20). These things are seriously the creepiest little fuckers ever. It doesn't help that I don't kill bugs. I had to try and trap it under a glass which I failed miserably at. Instead of getting caught under the glass, it chose to run across my toes and into my closet. Now I sit here typing at 3:40 in the AM jumping at every single little itch on my leg. I know it's watching me... I might now be quite so terrified of these things, but they can live up to FIVE FUCKING YEARS >.< I hate to say it but I may just have to putt some of those sticky bug pads out. I hate to do that because I see quite a few moths in my room which I don't mind in the least. Looks like they're going to have to be casualties of war. Luckily I live on the second floor of a duplex, meaning that they're most likely to be bother my neighbors below me >.>
Ugh, God. I am a compassionate human being, but I can not resist killing most of those little beastie fuckers.
Those things look so creepy. I don't think I've ever seen a centipede that looks like that, though. How big are they?
Ehhh, I usually try not to kill bugs and stuff, but I MURDER centipedes if I find them in my house. Same with hobo spiders. Not things that I want around my dog and two cats... centipedes can have a hell of a bite to them, I got bit by one this year... my mom got bit by one in the garden a few years ago, and by the time she made it to the house, she couldn't get her rings off because her hand was so swollen. Kill the fuckers! Haha. Our biggest "problem" is that, since we're backwoods freaks, we get a lot of spiders. Not that that's a problem, spiders are more than welcome in my house any time. I probably see at least 50-100 a day, in the house and outside... sure am glad we don't have that many centipedes out here, haha.
i never killed them. i did used to capture them and put them in my sisters rooms. but i was the biggest bitch in my preteen years haha
oh god. i hate those things!! i ALWAYS have those things in my house, just chillen in my room and shit i usually try to kill them, but they're real fast and they'll run under stuff and then i'll just try and forget about them.
The thing is, they're so hard to capture, or kill because they move so damn fast. It's the legs that get me... If they moved just as fast but didn't have the huge ass legs I may not dislike them so strongly.
Man I hate those, I try not to kill them but they usually get crushed half way under the glass. I could care less though they are gnarley little guys.
I have had thoughs in all the houses i've lived in. They sorta sneak up on me and I usually just smush them. I do hate it when they run into/under things, cuz it sticks in my mind that it's there, haha
hahahh those things are pretty sick it seems like they only live inside. ive never seen one like that outside strange
man i was there on 4/20 when it happened. boy what a night. but i was fucking nervous as hell cuz i slept on the floor. i just kept thinking 1)im gonna wake up and it will be in my face and 2) i should really check on you cuz my woo made you so woozy you threw up. of course the warm heineken couldn't have added any positive effect to that situation. uke:
Whooooa is that a close up or is taht thing actually that big? Cause centipedes here are fucking tiny and shit. You can kill a centipede in about a second..... just kick its face off
I was reading up on them, and they say sticky traps and seal out moisture prone areas (that's what they need). I've been bitten twice by them, both in the same exact circumstance, in the same place on my body (right shoulder in bed). If you see them, always check your bed before entering including under pillows! Their sting hurts like hell! I hear if you put MSG (meat tenderizer) on the bite, it will absorb the venom (Hawaiian custom - worked for me). Elevate the bite and put ice on it to keep swelling down. Hopefully none of us will get bitten (again!)...
