I did mushrooms for my first time last night. I was with 5 other good friends, one of which left shortly after we ate them to go to the bar. I made sure I was in a good mood and it was awesome! I had an eigth. One of the girls in our group wouldn't shut up, so I left and went down to this big festival and had one fuck of a hard time finding my way out. But it was incredible, I just laid in the grass and watched shit go crazy.. The body high was so awesome, when it first hit me I was just leaning up against someone's car, it felt SO good. In a few weeks me and another friend are going to do them and possibly watch Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
dont watch a movie. go explore. live life, dont watch a highly fictionalized version of someone else's. You'll be glad if you choose your own over a movie life
Actually, most of what was in Fear & Loathing really happened. There are some small differences, but not enough to say it's not a true story.
watching a movie was what spiraled my into my first bad trip (it ws also my first trip) its much better to entertain yourself. trip toys, nature, drawing/painting, and i may get hated on for this, but video games are a blast. you can break down the chemistry of the game to the simplest concepts, and see it sort of for the first time. youll either kick ass at the game or do utterly terrible. i wouldnt play a killing game though, thats asking for a bad trip. i played fifa 07 and had great time. then again, the movie i watched was some outrageous japanese movie about a restaurant that serves aborted fetuses to its customers, including a scene where a fetus was being minced. yeck
even true stories that are made into movies have parts that are hyped up for the movie to make it more interesting. I was just making the point that, for me anyway, exploring and being alive while tripping is more fun than chillin on a couch watcing a movie
Very true, but if you get the special-edition DVD, it has a commentary with HST himself. The only differences that I remember him mentioning are in the scene where he throws the money at the midget, that didn't happen like that. He said he would never be that cruel. He also made it back to LA, instead of stopping in Bakersfield, so it was actually 2 stories combined. I completely agree. I can't stay inside for an entire trip, unless it's DMT.
so true. my second best mushroom trip ever started with me and my 2 co-trippers playing sonic the hedgehog for about 3 hours; i swear that game was made for tripping. i also had an amazing couple hours of an acid trip playing vice city. not doing missions or even killing people, just driving around the city listening to the radio (espantoso in particular)
I remember before Hunter died, there was a publicised quoting of him saying he wanted to die by taking a couple 10strips and getting shot out of a cannon, or something to the extent.
