I have a prescription for oxycodone (Roxicodone) 30 mg...it is the immediate release, not the extended release oxycontin. Some people get these confused, this is is why I am clarifying. I cannot afford the brand name, so am wondering which of the generics is the best? I have taken the Amide 15 mg and felt it did a decent job. I do not like the Ethex brand, as it is "gummy". The only other one I know of is Mallinkrodt, but have not taken it and do not know anything about it. SO...could someone tell me which is the best of the generics??
I take my meds for pain control. I have Ankylosing Spondylits, Rheumatoid arthritis, and severe Spondylosis, both spinal disorders that cause intolerable pain. I have other medical conditions that cause pain, but these are the ones that seem to be the worse. I have suffered from a fractured neck and jammed vertebrae in my back...in other words, my spine is totally out of whack. I suffer from pain 24/ 7...even the oxycodone does not totally relieve my pain. I have lost my insurance so am tyring to get the most for my buck. I was on oxycontin 40 mgs 3x day, with 15 mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain..I can't afford that now. We are now trying the IR oxycodone 30 mg, 5 to 6 times per day. I also have some methadone that I did not take because it made me so sleepy. I have a few MSContin that did no good as far as the pain goes. The oxy drugs are the only thing that helps. WIth all this said..I want to use my meds in a way that I get the "most" benefit..if that means snorting them, so be it
Rayan...are you kidding, or just incredibly naive? the biggest drug problem in most developed countries is not marijuana, coke, or lsd any longer - it is prescription drugs, especially narcotics like oxycodone, hydrocodone, and morphine as well as benzodiazaprines and amphetemine combinations like adderall and ritalin. If you think it's messed up to abuse prescription drugs, you may be right, but to be surprised that it happens..that just makes you uninformed. IamFree - I suffer from a genetic disease called Cystic Fibrosis which mainly affects the lungs, pancreas, and digestive system, but was recently diagnosed with a fibralgia known as CF Associated Arthritis. I'm curious, since you suffer from Rhumetoid Arthritis, if any specific pain killer works better on that type of pain than others. i'm currently taking oxycodone and cataflan but the pain still burns through.. And to answer your question about generics IamFree - I can't remember the name, but Watson pharmaceuticals makes a generic Oxycodone 30mg i believe - their products have always worked as well as the brand names for me (i have EXTENSIVE insurance coverage and only pay 10USD for my prescriptions, so i get the choice of either.)
i get those 30mg Roxi's made by Mallickrokdk w/e the ones with the M on em and 30 on the back... they are good and crush up good..
Versimilitude - I must be pretty naive - coz I seriously didn't know that. Of course, its completely understandable to use medication for conditions / health problems but i still think its messed up to use prescription drugs recreationally. Ry
in my opinon there is no good version of Generic OxyContin...but if ur just talking about Percocets then those are basically all generics but they work just fine...its just the generic OxyContins that sucks ass....even if u crush and parachute them they seem to not be as strong/quality as the name brand OC's made by Purdue Pharma...(pill imprint = OC/40, OC/80...ect..}}
I have taken roxicet, which is generic for percocet/oxycodone 5 mg, and I have taken endocet, 10 mg generic percocet/oxycodone. Both are great, you shouldnt worry about it not being effective, it will be! To some people, they think generics arent as strong, but if they aren't, its not enough to make that much of a difference, considering the generic might be half the price or better.
