I'm going to start training as soon as school starts August 27. I plan on doing a lot of travelling beginning late next spring, and I would like to do quite a bit of backpacking. I've never gone before, but have been researching things like equipment, pack weight, etiquette, etc. I'd like to know if anyone on here backpacks and can suggest some exercises. I know that legs, abs, and back are the most important areas to work on, but I think my biggest challenge will be endurance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It sounds like you already know what you need to do.... increase endurance! The only way to do that is walk walk walk. Not sure how it would work but could you put some weights in a backpack and slowly build up until you are at an average pack weight? btw... i've been inactive on the boards for ever and have been feeling around for a couple days... hope to make some new friends peace barefootnikki
