I don't think I've ever actually brought one in my life, however my mother recently asked me if I'd like one she was given free, I said I would probably leave it somewhere, but she said to take it anyway. I really wouldn't mind if they actually did their job, however I'm carrying it around all day, just to have it turn inside out when I put it up, I mean how often do we get rain without winds? grrrrrrrrrrrrr S
I stopped using umbrellas when I moved to Brighton, there's just no point coz of the crazy winds. However, a while ago, my boyfriend got me one of those ladybug umbrellas that you see little kids carrying. It's amazing, it's so cute AND it's so sturdy it never turns inside out no matter how windy it is. And people always smile at me so much when I'm carrying it.
When I was 18 I went on a trip to Austin and brought an umbrella with me. So you know, whole trip went by without rain. Came back home, and I noticed the umbrella was kinda bent, so I opened it. One of the little metal things ripped across my index finger. Bleeding wouldn't stop so I had to go to get stiches. Four stiches in my right index finger from opening an umbrella. I opened the fucking umbrella inside. :H
Rain makes my hair frizz up almost vertically. But the umbrella is even crueller to me. Theyre awkward to carry, i always end up poking some old woman, and ive had them blow inside out AND straight out of my hand and up up and away. I therefore answered yes, i hates umbrellas
they can be useful, ill carry them with me if im gonna do a lot of walkign and the forecast calls for rain, or its raining heavily outside and i need to leave the house (and not be biking). mine also has what i call an umbrella condom, a sheath built onto it that you close after closign the umbrella so it doesnt get water all over stuff (ie your car) after you use it
The only umbrella i use, is to put on the buggy to protect my kids from the sun. If it's been raining then i'll use one myself (if i have just straightened my hair).
I usually just run in the rain. I don't hate umbrellas, but they are annoying once you reach your destination.
I hate umbrellas now, but when I was a kid the local TV station used to show episodes of the old 60’s British show The Avengers, so I’d carry an umbrella around because I thought it demonstrated a certain degree of class and refinement. Hotwater
not at all. there's a tecnique to useing them. it isn't exactly rocket science, but it isn't quite entirely obvious or intuitive either. like the bow of a ship in a storm at sea, you do need to keep them headed into the wind. sometimes that does take a bit more of paying attention then those spoiled by instant gratification are used to having to. =^^= .../\...
Umbrellas are Great... For Exmaple... Today it was Raining Heavily While I was Out Walking my Dog... It was Not Windy at All...And Instead of Heading Back Home...I was Able to Walk Longer...As Umbrealla kept the Rain Off me...
The story got even weirder. I later found out my father had given the umbrella to my mother instead of an engagment ring. It was their engagment umbrella.
