:applause: And you put "hippy" in your screename? I'm dismayed. Yes, if that's your picture, you are lovely. Lucky you. And no, I'm not fat, I'm just an elder with an opinion. You never know what might be visited upon you in your time concerning your body and it's changes. So, be gentle with others state of being.
one of my deepest fears is fish, even cartoon ones i have no idea when or why this started but even the word...
Agoraphobia, Claustraphobia, Vertigo and other peoples used plasters/band aids or stickers. I just don't like the idea of all the dirt and fluff (or goodness knows what) stuck on the back of a sticker. I'm fine with brand new ones however. Silly, huh?
They can be quite creepy I have to admit. I think clowns nowdays tend to wear much less make up and therefore, appear more 'normal'.
I agree with you. Alot of people really can't help how their body looks naked. It's not everything to look good naked. Nobody is young and nubile forever. I used to be a size 8-10 (I believe that is a 6 or an 8 in the US) but children and married life have taken their toll and I struggle to keep to a size 16 (US 12-14). I am not fat by any means but I would not make mean comments about people who are in a public forum
It may have been intended as a joke.. but yeah fat people (who aren't that way because of some sort of medical condition like diabetes or underactive thyroid) are to me anathema. Sure, you may not care what your body looks like. Wonderful for you. I'm sure I'm no Adonis in the buff. Doesn't mean I can't find you repulsive. Oh, and to stay on topic, one of my major phobias is electricity.. even changing a lightbulb I have to turn all the power out in the house. Mind you, it's easily explainable, I've had a few nasty shocks over the years (one from three-phase, that was NASTY).
hmmm Hey Northern Lytes! wen u say ur afraid of kids do u mean like 7 yearold kids or "kids" like me, teens? just wonderin' As for me, i sort of have a fear of being in crowds where i know theres a chance that i will run into someone i know hahaha I KNOW it sounds crazy Its not that i have a fear of crowds, i have a little fear of running into ppl i "sort of know" from school and stuff.
oh! also: Catagelophobia- Fear of being ridiculed oh and i wanted to post this, its not my phobia i just thought it was funny and ironic: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words ha! go figure
man, the OCEAN. WHO is scared of that?! tell me! ill slice my arm off before setting TOE in any ocean. ugh.(whales are the main reason. dont ask why.) and heights- even watching movies with action scenes on top of roofs or something, i get incredibly nauseous and have to stop watching. and those long bugs that you get in your bathtub every now and then.
I'm afraid of snakes, spiders, scorpions, sharks, stingrays, heights, flying on airplanes, spontaneous combustion, and tornadoes.
my boyfriend is fat. and i think it's awesome. but that's just one person's opinion Aulophobia- Fear of flutes. < laughed my fucking ass off when i found this! aghhh! flutes! 0.0 i'm afraid of getting lost...like when i drive or when im with someone. once i got really lost when my friend was driving. we had no idea where we were, i was so scared i was crying
i used to be afraid of spontaneous combustion, ever since i read about it in a magazine. what an odd thing to be afraid of, yet plausable.
Wow. That, is really harsh. But, you made me learn a new word. I love words. So thanks for that. There is this woman at my work. She must be 300 lbs or more. She has a hard time making eye contact, but she's uber competent at her job and funny as hell. I get the feeling she's "hiding" from something. I couln't say for sure, but I don't think her weight is a medical problem. Her lunches comprise of fast and fattening foods, in good abundance. But still, I have to wonder how hurt she is somewhere inside, by something. I have to look beyond the physical which "repulses" (since our society deems via images and media that we do be repulsed by obesity and other human imperfections, because after all - youth and beauty reign supreme in our culture) and embrace the spirit within that human. I'm not saying that I'm not automatically repulsed by certain stimuli that comes my way, but I actively work to acknowledge my reactions, and work against the conditioning of them. Because I feel it's the human, and loving and right thing to do. Back on topic: Another phobia I have is in-laws. Unless it's Mr. Wonderful's dad, I shut down when the rest of them come around!
I DO care what my body looks like ALOT, but I'm not in a position to do alot about , except for watching what I eat, I don't have the time or inclination for organised excersise. I can understand you fear of getting shocks...you should try getting struck by lighting, or at least be holding onto something electrical when it strikes the house, if you want to know all about scary. This happened to my husband afew years back and he's really afraid of thunder storms now.
I can completely relate to that, I was in France with my parents and they had changed the road lay out and the map had'nt been updated, so we had no clue where to go and how to get out of Nantes. That place is a nightmare, especailly when it's getting dark, I started sobbing that time too.
