I think its cool that alot of seemingly big dealers are saying "legalize marijuana so you will have a large percent of the money we make", which just reinforces how much bullshit DARE is.

 

Although then again it could suck if the government gets involved in turning weed into another consumerist commodity

Well you could grow yourself and still buy from drug dealers if things got that out of hand, Im just imagining weed being advertised and just turned into another product like ciggarettes that eventually becomes practically artifical. You know what I mean? IDK

 

plus if marijuana becomes legal.. thus industrialized.. do you think they would take the time to pick out all the males from acres of marijuana? fuck no.. we'd just have legal schwag.. instead of tons of great.. straight to the head.. (currently)illegal buds.. like the cigarette comparision.. you can buy cheap prerolled tobacco for $4+ a pack or you can buy real tobacco for $8-10+ a pouch.. it'll be the same way.. you can buy cheap processed weed for whatever little amount.. or pay out the ass for good shit

 

More than suck it would be a catastrophy, if weed was taken over by the goverment, you can be sure that they would put ALL the power of production into the hands of corporations, AND try to breed strains that lacked the psychedellic properties of natural marijuana. Unless pot became 100% legal, I think government take-over of pot would actually strike a blow to the culture of change as a whole. We need to change the government before pot can be legal IMO.
The situation seems to be lose-lose, either get arrested, or have pot "corporatied" and still have to grow illegaly for yourself.

 

Exactly, it would just take away from the whole culture? (looking for a better word) of it.

 

^^ culture is a great word for it.. because that is whats lost with the legalization.. the counter culture.. marijuana will no longer bring people together the way it once did if everyone is able to easily access it

 

Plus.. what would hightimes do without marijuana being illegal

 

Keep posting articles about marijuana of course! It won't be the end of hightimes, the end of getting together and smoking.. its something new, without fear of being thrown in jail for having a few plants in your back yard, without fear of smoking a joint on your front porch. I can't wait for the day, and it will come. The DEA has been fighting a losing battle since the day it was created, and will until it ends.

If marijuana were legalized, you could grow your own without fear of additives like cigarettes, and I'm sure you would see business offering nice fresh additive free Marijuana for cheap!
Hell there are even additive free tobacco, look at american spirit.

If anything, I think Hightimes would FLOURISH. They would have so many new articles to produce about which location has the best strains. They would be able to make so much more profit, IMO, and yes there would be people that quit smoking if it is legalized, because I know some people that only smoke weed because they are anti-conformists. So they will just go to the next drug, etc. Which is why I say.....

^^^ true.. but would they want to produce strains that are more potent than others? would packs of marijuana cigarettes be labeled like bottle of alcohol?.. 10-15-20% THC.. 20-30-40 Proof Marijuana.. im sure certain states would decide to not sell it.. like Utah i believe is a dry state.. meaning they sell no alcohol.. or limit the amount of THC that is allowed to be in marijuana.. like minnesota.. i believe the highest Proof allowed is 151.. thats why REAL everclear is not sold in minnesota
