So I got accepted to a universtiy and will be living in the doorms. I'm pretty pumped becasue I have a cool scheduale, with a intro to sociology, and an Existentialism calss I'm excited about.

Any ways who ells goes? Any thing I should know?

Also meeting people? I'll be away fomr my friends who I've known for a while, so whats a good way to meet people at college? Never been easy for me.

You'll be fine. Just remember the profs generally don't care (they get paid whether you do the work or not) so don't slack or put stuff off.

You'll make friends no problem. Like yourself most freshmen are asking themselves the same questions. After a week you will be the groove and soon be looking for party flyers!

    Congrats!

Sociology... very nice! What do you plan on doing for a career? I thought about becoming a sociologist before I decided to teach.

I mean, I honestly can't think of anything else I'd rather do... I started taking Child Education classes in high school, and I feel I really connect with children. And I love to teach. Being in front of a class is like being on stage, it's very energizing and... just... happy. :)

i knew i wanted to become a farmer when i was 14, and im 20 now and i still want to be a farmer.... and ill be out on the farm in a year.

some people just feel very confident in their dreams and have specific skills. like artists, most people i know who are professional artists knew from a very early age that they were going to be artists.

I'm your average 20 year old and i have an idea of what I want to do, but my idea keeps changing.

Are you going to a large university? No problem meeting kids at a big school. Leave your door open to your dorm and welcome people in.

Congradulations on being accepted, but don't mess this up. Have fun and be smart. I don't mean good grades smart, be wise and don't get into trouble.

The club suggestion sounds lame, but is actually a good one. I met a lot of my friends that way. Another good way to meet people is to look for tell-tale signs of pot smoking in other people's rooms-- they're looking for new stoner buddies too, introduce yourself. Even if they aren't that cool, you can probably get high for free more than a few times this way. I met my dealer this way.

I just wrapped up my orientation at my new college. The first half of this week was a blast, and I'm sure you'll have a hell of a lot of fun, too.

I hadn't thought of looking for a NORML chapter here, but I googled as soon as someone mentioned it and I found one. I'll get in touch with them tomorrow. For now I might "break in" my new room. My roommate's gone for the evening, apparently (going to a party without me? he'll hear about that) and I don't know his position on herb yet, so I'll take the opportunity.
