I find this amazing. You don't keep track of weapons and arms in war zone? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/05/AR2007080501299_pf.html Will be fun to see how the Bush Administration and his Defense Department squirm their way out of this.
Funny how our government can keep track of the arms issued to our veterans, but they have no records of the arms issued to a government in a country at war with this country. http://news.aol.com/newsbloggers/2007/07/25/thanks-for-fighting-in-iraq-here-is-your-bill/19 GIs beware: http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=27839&archive=true But Blackwater and the administration who cares if you lose over 150,000 arms.
Can't believe all the gun toting arms loving NRA folks here at Hipforms think this is right, while our boys in uniform are off there fighting the turbanned menace.
We hold our "warriors" accountable for their arms but we allow our Justice Department to pull this? No one has a comment? http://archive.recordonline.com/archive/2004/12/10/abandon1.htm Democrat, Republican...I don't care what you are this is criminal. We are arming the resistance with US taxpayer funded weapons. Smacks of Iran Contra all over again, but that didn't happen in time of war.
The Iraq war was engineered with a purpose in mind. To destabilize the Middle East to the point where we have an excuse to enter the affairs of other nations in that area. For oil. For Israel. For the New world Order. We make you sick, then we sell you the cure. It's an old strategy. And of course, war has also been good for the economy. Eisenhower tried to warn us of the military/industrial complex. They create their own supply and demand for the sake of profit. They do so by starting wars and sustaining them. Putting weapons in the hands of your enemy insures a good future return. x
Now we have Italy intercepting guns purchased through the new Iraqi government for Russian arms. No ones clear if they are coming directly from Russia or whether there is a third party mediating the deal. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/12/AR2007081200460.html The fact is arms have gone missing and arms are being purchased in a war zone. I find it alarming that with all the money American taxpayers have paid for this war, it takes Italy to stop the import of Russian arms, and our own government can't account for the arms it's handing out. Is someone getting rich off the black market?
What do you want them to do? Attach a GPS to every AK47 they hand over to the Iraqi army? This is a non-story dressed up as a scandal.
190,000, that's enough to give each of our soldiers a new weapon, instead, they are having to face them in the hands of the enemy. I don't consider that trivial.
No reply Pepik, can't explain why giving the enemy arms is a problem? Shit it's like monnitoring and containing our border after an attack...it's a non-brainer.
Its an example of how our Goverment operates. multply this by every county and municipality in The US and imagine all the waste.
