i really like daft punk and i was wondering if anyone could suggest any other bands i would probably enjoy (or bands similar to daft punk)
I dont know any other groups like them really, but have u seen the interstella-555 video thing for their one album? It pwns so hard....
Daft Punk really are one of a kind. BUT... if you're fishing for heat bringin' beats...try The Juan MacLean um..that's all i got. :{
Kraftwerk? If you like robo-like vocoder effect then you may want to consider getting Minimum-Maximum by Kraftwerk. It's live with great quality. It will be like a best of with new tracks and their old ones updated to a newer fresher sound. Hopping from Daft Punk sound quality and production to say and older album from like 1978 might be too be a jum for you. So check it out and let me know what you think. (It's the guys in my sig) Also if your a guy who likes Daft punk tracks like Veridis Quo then I suggest Air. The Air album I reccomend would be Talkie Walkie or Moon Safari.
psilo9 has got it.. check out 'JUSTICE' though for sure. kavinsky, sebastian.. a lot of the artists off of 'ed banger records' label. french house and french electro.. para one has a pretty good disk out too.
well i was looking for more tracks similar to "digital love" "aerodynamic" around the world" and in particular "voyager" i mean like....not robot kina stuff.....kina more outer space kina stuff ya no?
kraftwerk for sure. the most cosmic sounding album is 'the man machine'. no shortage of outer space grooves there. very chill also. peace
listen to the new justice album. i saw them a few months back in san francisco and they fucking rocked the place!
Lotus perhaps? They are a 5 piece electronic/jam/rock band that grooves it real good, they have some good dance beats and they actually did a cover of "around the world" this summer when i saw em...Try anything of theirs, check their myspace or something you might like it though it is quite diff than Daft Punk...more jam/instrumental and less computer/electronic but still worldly dance beats and rhyhtms that you may enjoy.
woa jacob thanks man, i really dig that band man......i liked like half of their songs and i like the soft and easy sound they have........... too bad i cant pirate their stuff lol any other suggestions? anyone?
STS9 throws a good bumpin', energy filled atmosphere with an impressive light show to boot. They also have a fair bit of electronica style stuff. I strongly suggest checking them out if you haven't before.
Sure thing Heeh.... If you dig Lotus, i think you might also enjoy 1.) "The New Deal" 2.)MFA: Lopp Lab (Motion For Alliance: Loop Lab)... 3.) EOTO (catch them live if you can...its a completely different ballgame live) 4.) ofcourse STS9 (sound tribe sector nine)....they are getting huge in the states now 5.) Conspirator (disco biscuits / umphreys mcgee side project..little more dark electronic than daft punk, but still easily dancible) 6.) Telefon Tel Aviv (im sure youd like them...very chill thogh)... 7.) Pnuma Trio (faster & more electronic than lotus, but similar & very good) i could give you more if youd like....most of those bands (except for telefon tel aviv) can be downloaded freely from www.archive.org they are live shows ofcourse, but the lotus, new deal and sts9 sets sound just as good as a studio album if you find the right recording....and you can probly find mp3's of the others on their myspace or website page....and if that isnt enough, shoot me a pm or somethin and i will give you some more to check out.. here is an example of a SBD (soundboard) EOTO set from the archive...the sbd are the best quality if you can find them as they are recorded straight from the soundboard obviously lol... http://www.archive.org/details/eoto2007-09-19.matrix.flac16 eoto is sick, i jus saw them OCt. 26th and they completely blew me away...they get better each time ive seen them...
"i mean like....not robot kina stuff.....kina more outer space kina stuff ya no?" Spacelab by Kraftwerk. Don't know if you'll like it cause it was recorded in 1978 and it may seem dated by Daft Punk Standards but you can see how much Daft Punk are influenced by tracks like this.... http://youtube.com/watch?v=y5k0Lp_kcko
