Good or Bad? the title track lead single doesnt do it for me...i find the riff to be extremly weak for jack white. but it is the white stripes, so i imagine the rest of the album is pretty sick. if i find one of the flashdrive versions then i will definitely buy it
I think the title track is definitely rockin'. I like the wonky synth. Jack doesn't look like Satan anymore, which is a plus. And Meg's quite good looking in the video.
The disc is good as a whole, but not my favorite. The White stripes kinda peaked for me with Elephant. There's lots of grasping at different styles on this one. I could have done without the Irish/Celtic wanna be bullshit tune.
I've listened to the album 3 times all the way through already and I'm really diggin the music. It's good music, I guess I have to go back and listen to their past albums now. P.S. This is not my genre of music, I prefer Hip Hop music.
I havent heard the album...but I think Icky Thump is probably one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard.
I think its a great album i wouldnt call the celtic-esque track bullshit. I like the way jack references different styles sometimes. The song icky thump has the sweetest synth. Its a good album...
awesome album, because its the stripes. but seriously, i'm officially ready for meg white to pump up the funk on the drums. after all the raconteurs goodness, its hard not to imagine jack being backed up by a versatile drummer.
song #12 "Catch Hell Blues" is THE sickest song on there.....gotta love rockin' slide guitar.....it reminds me of Led Zepplin's "In My Time of Dying"
I'm in love with this album for quite a while now. There are so many good tracks on this album, and ya gotta give Jack credit for using bagpipes on 'Prickly Thorn, but sweetly worn. awe-some yo! Also happy that the what heavier guitar work of jack is back again on this album. Me love the stripes!
