I wouldn't eat anything cooked where meat has been cooked. Use aluminum foil or something to create a barrier. Most cafes and such usually will have one area of the grill for meat and one area for fried taters or grill cheeses, etc. But not all. I'm pretty strict about cross contamination. A real vegetarian should be. That includes half and half pizzas too. I'll pass. x
thats like saying id never use the sme fork that someone has used on a steak, its pretty much un avoidable when eating out. i really dont see how it harming anything if its the same grill.
^ That's why I don't eat out. Unless I know very well that the establishment I'm going to has strict rules to deal with and avoid cross-contamination. Realistically, I eat out maybe 2-3 times a year, though... It's not that I think I'm "hurting anything"... more that I just don't want to eat meat. If a grilled cheese sandwich or some such thing is made right next to a burger, that means there's all sorts of meat juice and nastiness in it. Gross. I can taste it, too, which is quite unpleasant. I don't like to complain or get too demanding, which is largely why I prefer to just make my own food.
I think of meat as being unclean. I like to keep the food I eat clean as possible and not just from dirt. x
depends why you are veggie. If it's for the animals you have to think whats best for the animals and not your own pureness. More people buy veggie dishes out, the more veggie dishes are ordered from the restaurant
A real vegetarian? I didn't know there was a definition! Eating food that has come into contact with meat doesn't make you any less of a vegetarian. I'm vegan and sometimes i eat things on the BBQ that has been cooked after meat. I try avoid it but sometimes it's not possible. Am i a REAL vegan?
I have made the call...i'm vegan. I'm not actually eating the flesh of an animal so i don't see what the deal is. And like i said i only do it when there is no other option.
