I bought a dremel today, and the SOB will not cut thru rocks, even w/ the calibride.
I have no clue how you ppl put the holes in the stones! Can someone help me w/ this?
On a good note, the dremel is great for engraving, lol, and sandin g and polishing, but I bought it specifically for piercing stones.
I am finding a lot of rocks lately and have access to some bones from road kill, so whoever can answer this effectively, and it works, I will mail you a strung necklace of quartz and clay and shell and bone! Thank you!

diamond tip bits & the proper speed for the hardness of the particular rock, you also want to use a bit lubricant to keep from melting the bits
i have a dremmel too & use it for cutting stones, just be very careful with stones like opal as they are very brittle & take special care to keep from shattering them
good luck i love cutting stones, its just really time consummi g
i remember 1 watermellon turmolein (spelling?) that i spent weeks on, & it was beautiful, like a glowing heart, but even after weeks it was still never quite finnished, pollishimg out every nick & scratch takes ages..but still i love it
