I think sports movies are overrated and filmmakers ought to not be aloud to make them until they learn not to make them so goddamn predictable.

Of course, I did laugh my ass off at 'Major League.'

Does Happy Gilmore count? I used to love that when I was younger.
My cousins and I were also quite devoted to the Mighty Ducks (we were kids :p) and while that has changed, I guess that was one of the few sports movies that I liked (at one time)

I second Major League.. surprised no Americans have mentioned Field of Dreams. I also quite like Costner in For Love Of The Game though this last one got mixed reviews.

From a football perspective (and I'm not talking American Football) there's Bend It Like Beckham which is absolutely hilarious but also Fever Pitch though I'm not an Arsenal fan :).
