I've REALLY meditated probably like 5-6 times in my life, and a bunch of 15 minute ones. I would want to do it more, but I can always think of something more fun to do. I'll be like OK I can either meditate now, or go hang out with friends. I can meditate tomorrow.

LOL I am the worst procrastonater, I am known to procrastonate by like 5 mins instead of days. This attitude prevents me from meditating enough. just thought id share.

Once you get into it, you'll find that it's incredibly rewarding. But you must always remember not to get caught up in that reward, otherwise you'll never advance in meditation.

Oddly, I've never entertained the possibility of meditation being fun.

For me, it was just a natural extension of self.

I don't meditate like other people do anymore. Life itself has become the meditation. It has no beginning or end. At some point, time just dissolves away into an everlasting present moment.

For someone who is always getting lost and losing things, I thought I would NEVER EVER be able to meditate....until I stumbled upon the technique of simply counting breaths and competing with myself as to how far I could count before getting lost. And it works! There is simply nothing like the serene joy of simply letting one's consciousness remain aware of the present moment through counting breaths. All other thoughts must just go by...or else I'm lost again. You don't just have to sit there either...you can do anything you want...as long as you keep counting breaths. And no esoteric overlay, which also delights me. Nothing, but nothing is necessary but the ability to be present in the moment, and now I can do it too. And if I can anyone can. My first time I got lost after 50 counts and now I'm up to 350. In only a few days.
