    going where? I can't see details of any protest event on that link - or has it happened?

    I only learned about the threat to Tara last week when I was visiting Dublin. It's quite heartbreaking, in fact hardly believable that the Irish government is planning such irrevocable damage to the most important ancient site in the country. Vandalism is too mild a word for it.

    For those who don't know what this is all about, this pretty much sums it up:

    sad thing is, the Irish public don't seem to care that much. I was talking to an activist on Dublin's Grafton St last week while the locals were rushing past to do their shopping and taking little notice of the demo that was going on. She said they'd had supporters come over from places like Brighton and Bristol, but where were the Irish???
