I’m starting to get excited about Christmas and its scaring the wife.

For the last few days I have been eying my boxes of Christmas decorations and wishing it was October so I could start decorating. I have a deal with the wife I won’t start decorating before October but when I start she knows she had better not try and stop me.

I hot glue strands and strands of inside Minnie lights around doors, windows and ceiling moldings. (I like using hot glue because you can get the lights nice and straight)

I also hot glue tin foil and wrapping paper to all the walls of 3 rooms then I use over a 1000 of pushpins to hang the decorations and garland. You should see our walls after the decorations come down. The first year I started using hot glue my wife asked me if it was going to wreak the walls and I told her of coarse not – this is special Christmas hot glue.

I was still in a jolly mood after the decorations were down and while we were looking at the damaged walls and moldings – I said to the wife – while maybe you were right – I did get a little cared away – but I’m glad I’m a grounds keeper and you’re a painter. All in all the wife loves Christmas as much as me and when it comes to preparing Christmas treats I don’t get in her way. Cheers!

we don't decorate as much as we used to, but i still love christmas.

It would be cool if for 2 months of the year everyone would just decorate theyre house in ways like that.
Christmas is actually a really nice holiday even though I don't really celebrate it in the religious sense. My family does though and everyone just seems to be happier and nicer during christams. They really ought to be like that all the time

 

Me too. I love the Christmas season. I can't decorate as much as I want to though my HOA doesn't allow decorations up intil the first day of december to me thats bs cause I like to put them up the day after thanksgiving. Or atleast that weekend cause i have the extra time off work. but oh well. I still love Christmas

 

i wish my parents decorated like you. My dad used to put decorations up every year and our house looked amazing but now hes to lazy and thinks were too old to decorate and stuff. He's mean.lol. My favorite holiday is halloween but i love christmas because of the decorations people do. It's so much fun to drive around and smoke and look at peoples lights.

Not for gifts, but I get to see alot of family.. and it actually gets below 90 in nov/dec time. Florida weather @_@

 

Christmas is fine with me, but I can't do all that decorating stuff. Like, I'm not against christmas, and I'll buy and accept Christmas presents but you'll never see me with a big decorated Christmas tree, haha.

Yeah I agree, they suck to clean up after, then you gotta drag it out the front door and un-screw the stand from the tree. It's a real pain in the ass, but I love the smell of them. I think when I'm older, I might just get a tree and leave it plain so I don't have to deal with all the lights and little glass peices that break asoon as they fall.

 

Haha! What I mean is, if someone's really into Christmas and I know they'll take the time to buy me a present, I'll take the time to buy them a present too.

Hello! I have stung up lots of Christmas lights but I never thought of shaping them into a peace sign so I am going to give it a go this year. I like to have a theme for my Christmas displays and I am starting to think that maybe this year it will simply be PEACE.

It would be priceless to see the look on my wife’s face if I told her I was going up on the roof to string up a Christmas peace sign because she would know - I would be bringing up a bucket of nails and know that I will probably do some damage to the roof.
Also well she is on the ground and hears me merrily banging away and asks me if I am damaging the roof – I could say – la –la – la – la and when she tells me that’s not nice - I could say – what I was just singing deck the halls. Cheers!

 

Bring on the pumpkin pie!! I got a peculiar yearning for winter yesterday at a very odd time. Visions of cuddling up under piles of blankets with a book and a pipe and going into hibernation mode..oh yes...I'm ready.
