    Okay! IMPORTANT !!!

Lets talk about this! I am interested in people that want to live in a commune. A socialist lifestyle! - Building own huts, vege gardens, own stock for milk and cheese etc. Live in the rainforest and live a natural and healthy lifestyle.

We have the perfect place and know people that have been there since the 1970's when my mother was a member of a commune their. It has since died down and the place is still preserved and we know the owners of the land and looking to start something up....we need ideas and perspective members...

Please let us know your thoughts and ideas on this issue...we will not let any secrets out until we know its something "that can happen"...

This is important and something we are looking to do very soon...please let us know

    leave feedback!

    Kindest Regards

    Lozzie

    There is rainforest in Australia.

And I am certainly interested in this. What state is this in and how many people are you looking at joining?

    sorry i live in queensland

have you ever heard of the kibbutz?

for me this epitomizes everything that a community should be. people actually working and living in a normal way ie washing, eating , thinking , learning, zero drug use, no stealing and not too many nutcases.

your average kibbutz nowadays has people living in their own homes with tv, washing machine etc but still working together. the communal kitched still operates (you go in for a feed at mealtimes but you can eat privately at home with your family.

realistically agriculture is a risky undertaking, this is why so many farmers go bust, you are at the mercy of mother nature.

from a communal perspective, privacy of the individual is a must and also respect for your fellow traveller. isolating a community from the world in the woods isn't really that healthy. from a convenience perspective the services provided in towns will be helpful.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to move to Australia for a while now and I've been dying to live a communal life. Let me know how it goes. I have to finish college first (in 2 years) but I'd be down for moving once I get school over with.

1.you need to be exclusive, while not ideal, is a neccesity of communal living. If you have a group of people working to stay warm, well-nourished, and happy, everybody has to work together. If one person is not willing to work, there is going to be resentment towards them within the group.
    2. It takes money. While money can be procured through different avenues, it must be there. You need start up dollars to get a commune in basic working condition. and every member must contribute equally as they are accepted. You must also find a way for your commune to be profitable. You do not have to start a large company, but the commune must generate some income.
    3. You have to be smart about it. If you plant your commune on infertile soil, your plants will not grow. There are lots of practical questions that need answers before it starts. How do you dispose of waste, how do you get electricity, if you get it at all, how do you get heat when needed, or are you willing to sacrifice that etc, and how do you make it self-sufficient. These are all questions that must be answered in order for people to live.
    4. You have to be committed. there is no wishy-washiness in this business. This is your livelyhood and a way of life. This is how you put food in your mouth and shelter over your head. There is no messing around.
    5. Don’t circumvent the law. With your buildings etc, and Pay all taxes. These are all things that can shut you down, so don’t try to skip this part. or it will be shut down faster than you would believe possible.
