My dad just gave me salvia, that I had ordered with a postmark from jan 17. He is talking about how it will be illegal in a few months.
Dude getting salvia from your dad must be wicked. He sure looks like a cool guy. Is it really gonna become illegal in the states? I have no idea on the status of salvia in Belguim, but i most say that it would really suck seeing another really good plant becoming illegal
I remember reading about this once before somewhere. They're having a hard time making it illegal because of the chemical compounds that makeup salvia. All of the other illegal narcotics all have a similiar, if not exactly the same, makeup -- making it easy to lump them all together and make them iilegal. To my knowledge, salvia is totally different and therefore cannot fall under the same law. They have however tried to push for making it illegal to sell when the intent is to use it for tripping.. I guess this would make it illegal for headshops to carry it? I don't know for sure.
I dunno if I really wanna go stock up on Salvia if it's gonna be illegal. Like, I got a gram and tripped a few times, but it's just not worth it, it's so damn short lived.
My parents would probably assume that my salvia was "pot" (a word which my mother uses in an attempt to strike me with her hip-ness) and take it away.
I think for something to be classified as illegal, its course of action it takes to produce effects must be well-known and fall under the classification of current drug laws. Since salvia's exact course of action and effects are currently in a legal gray area, it technically should remain legal, but when the DEA wants something gone theres not much standing in their way. Its kind of unfair, because it never really had a chance. People take one look at it, say "look this stuff makes you trip out and go crazy!" and voila! its gone. I'm sure it will be a little while yet, so enjoy it while you can I suppose. I'm not into salvia at all... I can't stand the feeling of being on a salvia trip, and I've tried it many times with various extracts. Just not my cup of tea I suppose.
^a legal (for now) plant known for it's intense hallucinogenic properties. http://erowid.org/plants/salvia/salvia.shtml
His dad didn't GIVE it to him, his dad intercepted the package and gave him what was rightfully his...
I liked salvia a couple times I tripped, but I refuse to ever go back into that insanely fucked up world. That shit is just not right, I sure wouldn't care if it was illegal.
