I was at SolFest this weekend (Ca. not GB) and heard one of the speakers announce that there was going to be a protest at Burning Man this year. In order to prevent the needless carbon release into the atmosphere, there are some who are planning on chaining themselves to the Man. The phrase "Man-sitting" was used. Any thoughts?
I think that the people doing this are a little crazy. There are WAYY more other places to go that dump WAYY more carbon into the air that they could protest.
One large wooden man set on fire once a year. In a festival that celebrates diversity and community. In a world full of injustice and corporate pollution, these protesters are going to focus on this? No wonder we are branded as wackos, Rush Limbaugh is going to love this. Thanks for giving him the ammo.
There's gonna be a "Truthburn" event there this year, in celebration of the struggle for 9/11 truth and justice. http://www.911truthburn.blogspot.com/
In most situations I would be for the protest of anything that threatens the environments well being, however such a small amount of carbon is released in the air, and also "diversity" is such a good thing to embrace, so in this particular situation, I would not support the protest, especially when there are far more important environmental risks going on right now that could use a good protest, junkyards, landfills, Industrial parks, just to name a few
Believe me Puffis, if you understand the clear and present danger of "false flag terrorism" you'd make this one exception. It is by far a more immediate danger than any of the things you cite above. I suggest you do some research on the 9/11 truth movement.
