You should definitely check out Hornby Island. It is definitely a nice place to visit. Very low key. You can rent a cottage at a reasonable price. Or you can camp, which is the cheapest. To get there, take a ferry from Vancouver (horseshoe bay, I think) to Nanaimo. From Nanaimo, you can take a ferry to denman island and take another ferry at the other end of denman to hornby. Warning! no public transportation on Denman.

If you're adventurous enough while in Nanaimo, go take in a bungy jump or a zip line. Hella fun! They also have paintball and other activities.

agreed, Hornbys one of the most beautiful places EVER! And public transit is hardly needed cause everyone will pick you up if you hitch. The sinshine coast is really really nice also, like Roberst Creek or Crystal Creek- they are like faery towns. Really anywhere cause be really nice.

Ha. My boyfriend has to go to New Brunswick a lot (CFB Gagetown) and says the same thing about the culture. We live in Esquimalt. I grew up here. It's still wonderful.

are you looking for a nice place to live in vancouver?

the highwaychild tribe is building a tribe house...communal house if you dont know what the tribe is in van somewhere, were looking to rent a house within the next two weeks,

the plan is that good folk will always be welcome as long as they help out,

Im struggling for things to do here as well Ive just recently got her, and I havnt been here in years,
working out in north van but staying out in coquitlam.

if its a nice day check out the wreck beach ouut behind UBC, its the greatest place I think I have ever been.

if your ever looking for someone to kick around with on the weekends

I need some goo dpeople in my life out here

definitly roberts creek. the coolest, hippest place ever and only like 15 mins from me :D
you will meet the coolest people, seriously. and its incredibly beautiful here, theres so much nice stuff to see i cant even begin.
can you tell i love where i live? lol
totaly easy to get here too. take the 250 or 257 bus from granville to horseshoe bay and hop on the langdale ferry then take the bus (the only one lol) and you will soon be in gibsons (where i live), then roberts creek :)

i thought i would just let you guys know i've found a super hip place to live just off of commercial drive in east van, so im definitely settled for now. It's a really great place with a shit-ton of really wonderful people. I'm waiting to see how everything works out before i decide to make anything super permanent. If any decent folk in the area want to show me around anywhere, let me know. im totally down for hang outs. Vancouver has lifted my spirit like a dream; i am so happy here. i love it.
