Hey I have been wanting to get a pool table for sometime but have really been looking at the space needed for one. I have enough space in my basement for a 7' table but not an 8' table. I wanted to know if a 7 ft. table is worth buying? are they amateurish or kid-style? ANY help is appreciated

As long as it's in good condition then I'd say yes. Just make sure there's no problems with the playing surface...

I'm hardly a great pool player but I can say this- I suck equally playing on both sizes. Vectors are vectors regardless of the size of the surface.

Yeah, 7 foot tables are a little easier to play on, but it's not really kiddish, unless you're a serious player.

If you're a serious player, 8 or 9 foot. But if it's just to enjoy with your friends, and 7 fits into your space and budget better, then I'd go with that.

i cannot immagine a more useless waste of the space one would occupy. now a model railroad, if the same room were available for it, built arround the walls to make better use of that space, now that would be useful, rewarding and interesting.

I've noticed that people get pool tables to entertain...and it's cool for about a month then no one uses it anymore and it becomes a work station/storage/whatever haha

I know like 3 or 4 people who use them often...but a lot of people I know don't use them and they just stay covered-take my in-laws. They have 2 vintage pool tables-used each of them only once. Then again, my in laws are junk collectors

Most bar tables are 7 foot tables. Yes, this thing should be so heavy you NEVER want to move it once it is assembled in place. I was going to get a 7ft. Brunswick, but when the people came out to assemble it, I discovered they ordered an 8 foot table. Luckily, it fit my room with only one corner with slightly limited space, which we get around with a spare shorter stick just in case. Hasn't been a problem. The actual playing difference between an 8 and a 7 is 6 inches wide and typically 10 inches length depending on the type of table you get. What are the dimensions of the room you are putting it in?

The width of the room is 12ft. 8 inches. The space that I have lengthwise to put it is about 16 ft.. The length isnt what Im worried about because the room is bigger than that, thats just the space between my weights and the couch. so really, theres no where for the cues to hit on the ends. The Width is what Im not sure about, what do you think?
