Just watched this again tonite. Absolutely blew me away as usual moreso because I'm smack in the middle of another messy situation where I'm falling in love with someone and she hasn't got an inkling how much even if I do get the feeling she likes me. Anyway, the ending of Notting Hill gets me every single time. The way Julia Roberts holds the camera during that last pause before she simply says "indefinitely" is perfect. Now if only I can sort my own love life out perfectly! Here's the scene in case any of you need reminding! QUESTIONER 3 Last time you were here, there were some fairly graphic photographs taken of you with a young English guy -- so what happened there? ANNA He was just a friend -- We're still friends I think. JEREMY Right -- yes, gentleman in the pink shirt. He is pointing straight at William, who has his hand up. WILLIAM Yes -- Miss Scott -- are there any circumstances in which the two of you might be more than just good friends? Anna sees who it is asking. ANNA I hoped there might be -- but no, I'm assured there aren't. WILLIAM But what would you say... JEREMY I'm sorry, just the one question please.. ANNA No, it's alright. You were saying? WILLIAM I was just wondering if it turned out that this... person... OTHER JOURNALIST (to William) His name is Thacker. WILLIAM Thanks. I just wondered if Mr. Thacker realized he'd been a draft prick and got down on his knees and begged you to reconsider, whether you would in fact then... reconsider. We cut to Max, Bella, Bernie and Honey, all watching. Then back to Anna. ANNA Yes, I believe I would. WILLIAM That's very good news. The readers of 'Horse and Hound' will be absolutely delighted. Anna whispers something to Jeremy. JEREMY Right Dominic -- if you'd like to ask your question again? QUESTIONER 1 Yes -- Anna -- how long are you intending to stay here in Britain? Pause. Anna looks up at William. He nods. ANNA Indefinitely.
ah that's without a doubt one of my favourite movies.. and that scene gets me every time! man i have to watch that movie again, haven't seen it in ages..
i really love this movie..one of my favorite scene is when Julia Roberts said ''i'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.." hmmmm very romantic..
I like Hugh Grant and for the most part I like Julia Roberts but I couldn't get into this movie. I couldn't figure out why he was so crazy about her; the character was vain and self absorbed. Maybe I'm missing something ... I'll have to watch it again.
Hugh and Julia are great in this movie. I really appreciate this movie, the romance definitely touch my heart. I love that movie.
