I vowed to read a little of the bible everyday, not to learn from it, but to learn more about the people who claim to live it as God's living word. And as a heathen, it's my duty to learn more about the people who will one day want to kill me again. Today's lesson was Matthew Chapter 6 which starts out: "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." What did I learn? Jews are money-grubbing hypocrites and are going to hell. Pagans are loud and ask for things and are going to hell. Don't ask God for anything. If you want to go to heaven, sit down and shut up. Nice.
FedUp, I agree with you, almost to 100%. To me, Jesus was a very real person, and His message was distorted to fit perverted controling agendas. This much should be obvious to anyone with a sense of perception. Of course Hell will not exist, Hell is what you go through every time things go wrong. And it's always the personal who causes their own unfortunate situations. But reincarnation was spoken of by Jesus to His disciples, as well as meditation for God realization, and this was simply erased from the teachings during 500-600 A.D. How can you control minds, when they think they have all the time in the world to act like good people? If they have Hell to fear, shoot, they might even just Die for the cause.

just a li'l social history for the time: these words were spoken to disenfranchized Jews. there always will be people who do well and bang their own gong about it. buy a brain. read proverbs. read psalms. believe. dont CRITICIZE. the holy word. harry potter is a spin off of the battle of good and evil. satan=voldemort god=dumbledorf so if jesus is so fake..then why is he in the trees. why is he in the nature. what if your idea of god is tainted by a feeling of pain. in order to see god in the right light i feel it is safe to clear your mind first no drugs. no television no junk food. no music. try clearing your mind from these things FOR one week..read the bible try and understand god.. if you wont do that..than you cant say god isnt real.

But its pretty obvious to this reader which of the two of you is more happy and fulfilled in their CURRENT life. i tried your reality for 8 years brother- and the better of the two is the reality i feel safe with. but what do i know im just another washed up hypocritical wannabe christian. actually no. i admit im flawed. but at least im happy!
