We are all born completely free. Free from authority, free from control, free from others. We are all animals. the human race is just another animal, such as squirrels or bears. We can do whatever we want, whenever we want to. No one has control over us. Even if everyone is against you and tells you you cant do something, you still can. Government is just an idea or belief. Just as in religion, you can choose to believe and support it, or you can choose to break away and ignore it. No one has the right to make you pay money to live where you want. Taxes are bullshit, you do not need to pay money to anyone to live where you want to live, just as you do not need to pay money to support schools or prisons. Everything in life is a choice, we choose to follow what we believe and choose to ignore what we do not. Everything is up to you, and not up to anybody else. Live for yourself, and do not let anyone affect your lifestyle. This is my take on life, in which the vast majority of the human population are too fearful of a higher power or the government to go about actually carrying this way of life out.
how are you carrying this way of life out besides belief in this philosophy? how is it that you are different than the people who live in fear?
i carry it out, i tell people my ideas, and i dont let anyone push me around or make me do what i dont want to, anyonee, not even government, i am a human being, and no one has the right to make me do anything no matter how much better than me they maay believe they are
i think that to, i mean the only moral i have is if im not forcing an unwanted experience on another human being, i see nothing wrong with shit. just cause a cop has a badge on does that give him the right to rule you? fuck no. or cause someone is stronger than you should they be allowed to beat you or murder or rape you hell no. individual choice, freedom is the way to go.
i think you're contradicting yourself there bro. you see "nothing wrong with shit" and don't want cops to rule you. you want freedom and individual choice, but you don't want someone to have the right to murder you or rape you. i understand where you are comming from though.
"i mean the only moral i have is if im not forcing an unwanted experience on another human being, i see nothing wrong with shit" that was kinda a whole sentence together, anyways yeah, i mean i believe the only restriction is letting others choose for themeselves, like why rape? that is taking choice away from who they wanna have sex with, why murder? did they want to die? its like indiviudual freedom, while respecting the boundaries of others(their choice).
oh i see, this is your personal belief. i thought you were presenting your view on reality like the original post. the original post is reality.
We may not necessarily be born free. How can you be so certain that the free will vs. determinism debate is settled? While you may not believe in God, you must believe in the basic physical laws that govern our universe. Every physical system is governed by these processes. Are you not a physical system? The human body is an incredible physical system. It is much different than other animals. You say that we are no different from squirrels and bears but that isn't true. We are very different. Our brain allows us intellect. Bears, while advanced mammals, are only different from squirrels in degree of instinctual and learned behavior. Humans are different from bears, not in degree, but in process. We have the ability to conceptualize. We are different, but we are still controlled. It is that very control, biological determinism, that doesn't allow us to "do whatever we want to, whenever we want to" as you say. They don't allow us to do very many things. Can you fly? Most of humanity is submissive to a higher power, but it is not government and may not be God. Your philosophy on life has been challenged.
Good post. The brain is hard wired to create certain thoughts and there is always the debate about what role enviroment vs genetics plays in making us the people that we are. So in reality, we are not as free as what you may believe. Freedom can be an illusion. Peace and love
to the OP, not all people are free. complete freedom of thought exists, but not all are able to think freely. also, people are bound physically. even in the world we live in, some hands are chained from birth. not everyone has the choice of ignoring governments, especially overbearing and oppressive governments. and in many instances, individuals are brainwashed their entire lives, vastly limiting their perception of the world and what they can and can not think about luckily for you and me, we live in america, where most of the population does not live brainwashed or chained or controlled from birth, where it's cushy and nice. and where we generally aren't forced to think about those kinds of situations. some people have to break through the barriers of perception before they can truly do this. some brains aren't wired to do that, in fact i think a majority of people will never truly be 'free' in thought and in action. not because they don't want to think about it, but because of other factors in their lives. we're all 'brainwashed' in some sense or another, but to what degree? some more, some less. but not all are able to break the chains that condition the way they think damn if i sound dumb, disregard it because i have had much cannabis tonight.
what would you do if you were physically forced to do something? like if the government told you they would kill you if you did not perform some task for them? how would you react?
I feel that all humans inherit the freedom of intent. On the other hand, the universe seems to be naturally predatorial. Some wills may overpower others; some wills may ally with others -even to the point of having control over the culture and media that teaches the children of our society how to direct their will. The other natural force that seems apparent is the seemingly random desire to serve another. To help another. Two naturally opposing forces at the semi-root of how and why we and many others in the universe behave the way we do (closer to the root would be our actual drive or intent). We can't claim one is better than the other and expect the other to dissappear. Personal philosophies are great, but essentially futile and harmful if we include expectations of others-whether those expectations include people following our rules or not forcing us to follow theirs. What's important is to understand our existance, our importance-and to decide what it is we'd like to create.
