So what do you think of the:police, cops, narks, pigs, filth? What do you think of them?

personnally I can't imagine a world without them, it would be terrible. Ok a lot of the police people are annoying and petty, without the force, the country would be in a lot worse condition.

Good on them I say. Important job. Seems like they'd benifit from some better guidance and funds from above. But it's not something I know all that much about really!

I once reported a serious sexual crime to them and gave in video and CD evidence. Nothing was done

Another time i was attacked by a drunk man in the street, and there was a CCTV camera on that road...nothing was done

A few months back i was arrested whilst taking part in a very very peaceful protest about foie gras sales. All i did was stand with a banner which was neither graffic nor offensive. Whilst inprisoned wrongfully i was treated horrendously, jokes were made about me infront of my face, i was basically bullied into saying things and i was refused medical assistance, water and basic things, aswell as being denied a vegan meal, which could have easily just been a few vegetables

So you could say my view has formed over time, until its become

-All of the UK police people ive been in contact with have just been power hungry, and have had issues. They play mind games and select easy targets. They dont deal with serious crime

This is, by the way, in relation to police in Nottinghamshire, where i used to live, and here in Gloucestershire.

Im sure there are some good police workers out there doing what they think it right and for good reasons, and who do lots to fight real crime. But generally the whole system has become, or always was, corrupt

I say the police are just people without any imagination and no ambitions. they join the police because they were too dumb for the army

The police are pathetic, they are just there to silence people... ive been to many peaceful demos where police have actually abused people YOUNG and OLD. They disrupt any form of SPEECH and arrest even though they know it won't go anywhere, we have evidence of them actually saying; "lets wage a dirty war" etc etc.

I have no respect for the police at all.... climate camp was a joke i got stopped and searched 10 times!! i had comments thrown at me by coppers WHEN i was minding my own buisness... i got slammed up against a riot van!!!! police are just here to control people... and where there is a need for real control NOTHING is done!!!

my uncle is a police officer. he's a nice guy. he used to park outside my mom's inlaws ever saturday, because he knew they'd get up to some kind of nonsense and he'd rather be the one to deal with them. he had a way with dad's family. and since my my uncle never sold the pot he was growing, he kinda left people alone. no harm ever came from an occaisional pot smoker.

this cop lived down our street and he was a right ****, he thought he knew it all, and was always telling people about how it really was on the streets and they didnt like him cuz who trusts five oh, man? anyway one day he tried to arrest a guy 3 doors down for saying "****" under his breath as he walked past the cop. well anyway this cops superior officer came and let the guy go - and the next day someone had painted the word
PIG in 10 ft high letters on the front of his house
needless to say he moved 2 months later
it was in big blue an white hip hop stylee letters
and the full stop was a pig being buttfucked by a big elephant

Bloomin' heck! I've never come acorss a nasty bobby to be honest. Saying that though, I've only ever seen them as the victim. Never been caught with any illegal stashes where I'm sure they'd be a bit meaner.

But in those victim situations they've been grand. Very calm and concerned in the serious ones and once quite cool in an everyday one...

Had me bike pinched when I was nine or so. They told me and my Mam they'd keep their eyes open, but then according to my brother, 18 at the time, they told him in a roundabout way where'd be a good place for him to look. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink and all that.

This reminds me, I forgot to mention, they care about property. Rape? Leave it be. Serious physical assault? Ahh, well take some notes and maybe possibly get back to you. Someone stole my car...omg, were on the case

Ive noticed this. I dont know why. I do know its pretty fucked up when i give in evidence of the most horrific crime imaginable and nothings done, yet my friends have their car stolen and theyre right on the case, or i hold a poster up in the street and they spend 2 whole days on it

Oh and things they give out fines for. I mean i dont know how the system works AT ALL, maybe they get more respect for this shit or something i duno. Money and property take priority over young victims of serious crime. Its just what ive found

Ooh and i ALSO forgot to mention the really funny time 2 cops showed up to my mums house drunk out of their faces...funny thing was, wed phoned up about my brother being drunk...hed become a little over the top and we were worried (this was many years ago when my brother was a growing lad) hed had some falling out with a girlfriend or something. Anyway so we phone the cops, and these 2 guys turn up out of their faces, i swear.

    "So...uh...your bruvas 16?"
    "No, hes 18"
"18, riiight...Well for people over 21 we need to give this leaflet, so here, take this"
"Hes not over 21, hes 18"
    "Y...yeah...o...right...hey you got any fags?"

They lit up cigarettes in the house, stood there for another few minutes, then started giggling and gave us a pathetic leaflet about domestic abuse and left!

    Not even joking

omg thats mad.... police are just scum though so it wouldnt surprise me :)

haha we had a riiiight laugh with police at the weekend... We did a stall in oxford to try and raise awareness about a vivisection lab being built, AND THE POLICE ACTUALLY STOLE FROM US!! >> this included a petition and lotsa other belongings... isnt that against the peoples act? so we spent all day in the police statiooooon! wankers!

So we shall see where that gets us... we have them on camera :)

i agree with miracle... people and property definatly take priority where the police are concearned. Makes me well angry.

Exactly the way American cops are. And what's even worse here, Americans are inculturated since they are little kids into this ridiculous myth that the cops are the city's 'finest', and the cream of the crop of society, that everyone should look up to them to solve all their problems, kind of the clergy of a secular society.

As far as I'm concerned, fuck the police. Aside from a skeleton crew of cops that might be needed to deal with very serious crimes, most of them are totally unnecessary, even more of a danger to society and our civil rights than anything else.

i highly beg to differ. i've met some incredibly kind-hearted and well-intentioned cops. yes, they're definitely going to have a higher ratio of power mad asshole piggishness, it's the downfall of the job. spend enough time chasing around dickheads, you'll eventually think they all are unless you've got a stronger mental fortitude. think about it: how would you feel if everyone, even totally innocent people, either thought you were a prick, sight unseen, or thought you were powermad? treat them like people and typically they'll treat you like people, instead of just another prick in a sea of pricks. but the fact that the people we're voting into power just keep making MORE LAWS just so they can point it out later and say "see, i did that!!" makes me violently ill. taking more and more power away from normal people.

Ive only met maybe a half dozen cops in my time, but they have been about as varied in personality as your average Joe. When they can't do you for anything or are looking for information I've been able to have a bit of a laugh with them, but one other time it was different. I think this particular one was bullied as a kid or something and had found an occupation where the roles could be reversed.
He knew I knew that I was in the wrong and I couldnt really do a thing about it. After a receiving good talking down to by the man his radio went and he had to go to a more serious incident, if that radio hadnt went at that exact time Id have been charged with careless driving, or was it dangerous driving, one of them is more serious than the other.
On the whole I dont think they are bad though, I see society as far more oppressive.

somebody's got to do the job.
I can't speak for the rest of the country, but our police are pretty laid back (most of the time) except if you're in Exeter, because we've got a pig-college there and so you get over-excited, baby-pigs hunting down their first arrest or whatever.

I remember being in the park when I was about 16 completely pissed and stoned and not really with it. The pigs come down the park and start taking the piss out of me and my mates, laughing at our red-eye etc. Was very spinney, but pretty funny and cool of the police not to bust us.

Same again when a friend and I were having a joint in a local beauty spot at about 2 am in the morning in the car. Pigs turn up, ask us some questions...we give very unbelievable and stupid answers, the pigs laugh and tell us to have a good night. :D

If your child wanted to be a policeman/woman what would you do/say?
I'd personnally be all for it.
although I am 15 and hope not to have children for a very long time

one time dave and i were pulled over, he had an outstanding warrant for traffic tickets or something silly. the car behind us also got pulled over. there were a couple stoner kids in there, with visible items. the freaking rookie took the kids' car, the old time took ours. well, halfway into the whole thing, the old timer looks back and sees the rookie (ex-marine) had the kids out of the car, was frisking them and arresting them and going all hardnosed on them. the old timer is like "WTF?! FUCKING ROOKIES!" he said "i'm going to have to go take care of this, ruining kids for a little fucking pot." oh, he was pissed. and he let dave go to go take care of the kids. it was awesome.

Why does everyone call em pigs as an insult?! PIGS ARE GREAT! People eat them and insult them and use their name as an insult etc etc Why?! PIGS ROCK! What did they ever do to you?!

    - Winston Churchill

Personally i have never dealt first hand with the police so i wouldnt know about it... Though they did give my mum this handy lil pack of help sites phone calls who you can talk to explaining about what this is and that and what you can do etc I learnt alot from that.

I guess i dont have anything against them but i wouldnt know as ive never needed help from them (and hopefully never will)
